With the cap going down next year, few teams can absorb JBO's salary without sending some back.

TOR has considered JBO but not unless CGY takes Komisarek straight up or sweetens the pot for Liles.

Feaster is going to be pressured into making a less than desirable deal for JBO and will ultimately take the fall down the line when Calgary fails to improve. That looks more like speculation than a solid rumor to me.

On the other hand the Pens reporter said that the price is a top d prospect, a 1st and a roster player (which can mean different things). We'll see.

I think it's possible the price is especially high right now because the Flames haven't officially decided to trade him yet. This would be consistent with all reports about the market right now - the prices are insane because there simply isn't enough seperation between the playoff and non-playoff teams, points wise.

Young, big, strong shutdown defensemen are at a premium right now. Marc Bergevin would make that trade in a heartbeat IF he was able to acquire Bouwmeester.

Dude, he still scores at a more than 30 goal a year pace and has done so for 12 years. He is alsways one of the best conditioned guys if not the most conditioned at camp. If Iggy went to a cup contender, he would be an absolute beast. And if anyone touched Crosby, Iggy would pound them. Who in your top 6 is going to do that? Dupuis? Kunits? Doubtful. I'll say it right now, if PIT aquires Iginla, they win the cup!!

I could also say the same for BOS. So, who's going to get on top of that?

i'm pretty late in replying to this but.... yes he is a great player, and on Sid's wing he would tear it up. But what would stop him from heading right back to Calgary after the season? and at 35 and turning 36 in july, he has only a few years left in him. No team is going to give up a good prospect, a 1st and a top 6 forward for him. Also for the "if anyone touched Crosby" statement, Dupuis and Kunitz aren't exactly push overs, Crosby is perfectly capable of sticking up for himself, and I'd prefer if Iggy was on the ice instead of the penalty box because he pounded someone for touching Crosby.

There's only one player in Boston's top six I wouldn't swap Iggy for and that's Seguin. Honestly a late first round pick and a top prospect who hasn't proved themselves doesn't get a player like Iginla. Calgary will want to fill in the roster spot with another top six.

Bergy won the slelke last year, he is considered one of the top three shut down two way forwards in the league, he leads the league in faceoffs and the team in points, etc.

Marchy leads the team in goals and is only in his third year of play and a top goal scorer. Great pk player along with bergy. He is a pain for the other team as well, which is a benefit for a team like the b's that love to get feisty.

Seguin future super star.

Krejic has had his consistency issues but is almost a point per game player this year along with bergy, sequin and marchy. Not to mention he led the team in point when we won the cup.

Horton is in the last year of his contract but is a better player and clutch compared to Lucic.

Lucic infuriates me, he has become lazy and doesn't grind or move his feet.

The only top six Calgary has a chance at are likely Horton and krejic, but Horton is a ufa after the season.
I doubt Peter has the balls to trade lucic.

But I said it before, lucic, spooner and ference for jbo and iggy with a conditional first or second if iggy signs with Boston and maybe Calgary taking on a mil and a half of jbo's contract.
