Eklund: Something Brewin in Toronto... - Eklund
i would not be surprised if the next big move came out of the NHL!!
although it might just be simply because the leafs have been losing and could use a change on D |

I guess Chicago is left out of the NHL rebuilding stereotype???? **Gets popcorn*** - saskoil21
Good mention, however, I wouldn't say it's like the Edmonton situation... Chicago, more than anything, was just the beneficiary of essentially two great draft picks-ups in Kane and Toews.
My main argument is that had this happened to any team, I'd feel the same way. I have no hate on for anything Oilers related. I just don't like when it *appears* that the NHL probably had a hand in giving them those picks in order to rectify the franchise. Assuming you can keep those picks, you'll be almost exactly like Pittsburgh now, having 3 supestars and a group of other solid draftees. Especially if Dubnyk rounds into a solid starter, you'll be laughing. |

Grabo has a bad contract...we would be doing you a favour for taking that. Toss in Gardiner and YAAAA HOOOO, we start the rebuild and you make the playoffs.
 - The-O-G
Looking at Kippers numbers this year, and his contract and age, sorry there is zero chance you get anything of great value.
You guys get a 2nd line center signed for 4 more years. The Leafs get a guy that may help make the playoffs.
Remember when Calgary gave Stajan his contract. |

Philly will be fine, but this year they probly have to take a step back. Losing IMO the best d man in the league would set any team back. - aminnes
You're right, I think a step back will obviously do the Flyers better long-term. |

Its gonna cost more than that. Your trading for a guy with high end career numbers and experience. It's probly gonna take grabs, a 2nd rounder and maybe some midling prospect. |

Not trolling....
it's fact. He said leafs couldn't use anything from Chicago.
Dumb statement.

Take Briere off our hands! I think you're gonna make it this finally and you'll need a clutch player come crunch-time! lol. |

That's a heck of a lot less than Grabs and Gardiner.
I could see Gardiner in a package for Bernier, he may be unproven but his age and numbers this year make him a more attractive option.

Gardner is not getting traded this year, there's zero chance of that happening. |

Don't see it either. There's no one to really even warrant trading him. |

Fair enough, but every team knows to get you have to give.
To say they have nothing was dumb.
I did also say that it does depend on what they are willing to make available of course. that part was ignored in the reply to my alleged trolling |

Wow, really? Kipper is still a sick goalie, but his age is the only detriment. Don't think the Leafs should do that theoretical deal.. Who'd play backup? Rynnas? |

I don't think so either. But for the right return you never know.
I think it goes without saying that most GM's would be asking about Gardiner, so depending on who the Leafs are asking about, you just don't know |

Lets just say it better be Reimer
Either way...I dont think that's enough for the Flames. What about Bozak and First? |

It says one or the other, not both goalies. |
