The senses are so keen in hindsight yet they are so blinded by the future. With the infiniteness that is love and potential anything is possible. The things that attract circumstance in life are fear and love. The Leaf futility over the past 40+ years is based on our nation being consumed by the fear of failure. Gone will be those days with the uprising of this young group, and i believe much of the same from your club. The past is irrelevant to the futures expansion. We give the past too much credit and indulge in moments that stagnate progression. Progression however is inevitable, LIKE love, and like love, the Leafs will progress and expand into a team, others will not like to face. We are almost there, much like the Oilers.

Oilers need more pieces then what the Leafs need... Oilers have the better elite young players, but they are all mostly perimeter skill guys, no real grit at all, and there defense and goaltending are both very questionable, with no real hope in sight, unless they make a deal or four....

Leafs need the 1C, a vet goalie, maybe a defensive top 4 D-Man, that's probably all they need.

Both teams "issues" can be addressed with the inevitability of development, and the infiniteness of progression. Something the draft and signings promote. You never know who becomes an allstar, who becomes a grinder, and who becomes that piece you never thought a certain player could be. The Leafs #1 C may already be in our system, the label of who that is right now doesn't matter, as in time it will sort itself out. No need to be rash as i think amongst Kadri, Colborne, Grabovski, Bozak, and many of the prospects coming through can assess that situation. I'm sure the Oilers have players we aren't paying attention to that may just address their needs. Theres more to it than just what we see right now. All is possible.

PS: there is nothing more unpredictable than life, and when it comes to humans (3 dimensional emodiments filled with this life/love/infiniteness) we are no exception. All it takes is one moment on a shift to change a players career for the better or worse. The only obstacle is the mind.

Acquiring what fits is the real tough thing imo. Things can look good on paper but not fit on the ice. There is great hockey talent across the globe. All it takes is chemistry with one player to discover your own abilities and allow those to translate into progression. So to say which is tougher really depends on life, which like i've said is unpredictable. Both are equally possible when the subject/player believes in themselves and their abilities to become either. (Skilled or gritty). When one buys in, all is possible.

Hahaha - for such a boring franchise there sure is a lot of other NHL teams fans that talk about them incessantly on a daily basis. You certainly are no marketing wiz - the old saying "any press is good press" rings true. Nice troll try though...

No, he's right. When news is slow, a great way to perk it up is to mention the Leafs in trade rumors. Why else do you think the ratio between Leafs trade rumors and actual trades is so high?

The other responses are people A: laughing at Leafs fans for the trash-for-treasure proposals that inevitably pop up or B: off-topic comments about Ek.

I looked at chicagos pay structure there is no one on there team that the leafs could get in a trade.

They have their core locked up and the rest of their players are role players.

Hossa has insane term on his deal he could be the only guy I could see them moving and even at that I doubt they make that move considering he is a huge part of their team.

Derek Roy is going to cost the leafs way too much.

Remember Nonis is the same guy that didn't do a thing at the trade dead line and was fired by the ownership group.

He will not do a thing my bet is that he try's to sign UFA's in the off season fails terribly like Burke always did. Any progress is coming fro within just like kadri is turning out to be an excellent player the next good player for the leafs will be someone in the system. Don't expect Nonis to make a big deal

eberle and hall were rfa's not free "aging"?? (i think you mean agents). nice try though. have fun in the basement, the oilers are the laughing stock of the nhl HAHAHA
- sensnucksnocups

also it's not exactly something to brag about if your team managed to burn off the ELCs of two of their young stars without making the playoffs once...not a good recipe for future success. even if they make the playoffs this year it's still a mark of bad management on that front

i know, the flames rival the oilers for incompetence in their own ways but my point still stands

just a thought here, Toronto scouts in chicago at ahl game. either looking at chicagos or vancouvers farm team or both. There has been past interest from chic in grabovski who is in carlyes doghouse. If its chicago i could see the leafs after mark macneil and a 1st pick or bolland. If its macneil and bolland, bozak is moveable to a number of interested teams say for one vancouver. And maybe the leafs aquiring roberio not roy for a 2nd. Grabs as alot of guys would excel in chicago as a second line centre. Torontos lines would be 1st kessel, riberio, jvr 2nd lupol kadri frattin/macarthur 3rd kuleman bolland frattin/macarther 4th line komerov- mC clemment- orr /macclaren and as a side note if nathan horton is avaiable next yr as a ufa i would sign him to replace macarthur. wild but i have seen worse on this site and its always fun to play GM

not to troll... but anyone play inline? I'm in the market for new bearings and have read various opinions.
People seem to really like Bones Reds, but I won't spend the 75 on the Swiss where I can find Swiss cheaper with Mission, Bevo and Labeda. If I did Bones, i'd get the 8pack of regular Super Reds for 22bucks. Bevo makes a 16 pack of Swiss for 45, Labeda for 42, Mission for 40 and Swiss LE for 48.

I probably won't notice the difference and I understand maintenance is important to longevity. One writer said he had Reds, Bevo and Missions and found the Missions to be just as fast but much longer lasting. Any info is appreciated.
