My favorite thing about leafs fans on this site is the fact that they make fun of EDM's 29th place finish last year like TO's 26th was magnificent. What a joke.

I sincerely apologize for using a cell phone and not checking the post before i hit submit. I can't believe what an idiot i am. I should jump off a bridge or something. i was responding to a post about the Oilers players leaving first chance they got.

lol No the joke is how many top 3 picks the oil have had and how bad they still are. Leafs gave what became their only top 3 pick away, and still have a better team.

How old are you? I've never understood the 3 1st overall pick thing. If you're not winning the cup wouldn't you want the best draft pick you can get? I know at some point you have to improve and take steps forward but i would rather do it with 1st overall picks than mid rounders. All the core players are still under 23 years of age.

You are right they have more points. Who do you think is closer to winning the cup. Not saying the Oilers are close but they are certainly closer than the Leafs.

LOL - man, you are one delusional fool!
Forget about how crap your team is but you just might be run by the dumbest hockey minds in the NHL.
Edmonton is probably the furthest team away from winning a cup in the NHL based on your management alone - nevermind how crap your team is!!

Naw, nothing brewing in Toronto. We'll stand PAT until the offseason. We've got a good team capable of fighting our way to a spot, which is all we want at this point. The rest is just greed and needlessness in trying to earn a spot we haven't seen in 8 years. It will happen when it needs to, no need to force it. That said, this team without any acquisitions is more than capable of rumbling their way in.

Ahh my fellow leaf fan, don't bother to indulge in those who fear our success. Accept them, and realize with our teams play, that the words of an Edmonton fan are really nothing more than biased banter. We both have good young teams. Ours probably a little more consistent in terms of playing with an identity this year. Anything can happen in the world of sports and both teams have the potential to make noise in the coming years. Something tells me the Leafs time is coming =).

I don't expect this management team to be in place in 4 years time. I also don't expect them to trade the core.

You have no clue. I can't believe im having a conversation with a leaf fan about winning the cup. This conversation has been going on for more than 45 years.

The past is irrelevant in an ever expanding universe, as with the newly stored information of now, the past becomes distortedly glorified or distortedly exaggerated. The Leafs fans of today look forward in hopes of a tomorrow, as do you Oiler fans. We both have solid young teams with bright futures, who could very easily be a SC matchup one day. Cheers to that moment, may the best team win ; ).

The senses are so keen in hindsight yet they are so blinded by the future. With the infiniteness that is love and potential anything is possible. The things that attract circumstance in life are fear and love. The Leaf futility over the past 40+ years is based on our nation being consumed by the fear of failure. Gone will be those days with the uprising of this young group, and i believe much of the same from your club. The past is irrelevant to the futures expansion. We give the past too much credit and indulge in moments that stagnate progression. Progression however is inevitable, LIKE love, and like love, the Leafs will progress and expand into a team, others will not like to face. We are almost there, much like the Oilers.

Oilers need more pieces then what the Leafs need... Oilers have the better elite young players, but they are all mostly perimeter skill guys, no real grit at all, and there defense and goaltending are both very questionable, with no real hope in sight, unless they make a deal or four....

Leafs need the 1C, a vet goalie, maybe a defensive top 4 D-Man, that's probably all they need.
