On waivers now...run out tomorrow and grabs his NYI jersey... - Fruitcakenipple
Wow. Garth has a major in cap floor circumvention with a minor concentration in waiver wire pick ups. |

Franchise sucks? The banners hanging from the ACC rafters would disagree you clown. Yes 1967 we know.
You sure have a lot of hate for such a "boring franchise." Jealously of Toronto in general I presume. - SameOld
Not bashing you guys are anything...but your franchise is def in a quite a big rut. They're in a decent playoff shot...but toronto is def much more closer to the sucking side than the good side. (trust me im not proud of my franchise either) |

LOL, hjammer would easily be the best D out of who the leafs have currently, ( imo he has been best D for hawks this year ) bolland is on the way out, with kruger taking his spot, bickell would help tons on the leafs, imo its gonna be bickell and maybe pirri for bozak - Hawkeyes
Not a chance leafs would let Bozak go for Bickell or Pirri...
It will take Saad or Teravainen at least to get Bozak in a Blackhawks Jersey.

I don't hate the Oilers or their fans, but that 3 1st overall picks in a row was just absolutely ridiculous...
For anyone who argues that there wasn't any collusion or conspiring, I say that it's almost a sheer statistical impossibility that it happened by chance, 3 years in a row... I just look at the context of the Oilers the past 7 seasons, and I'm almost positive the NHL stepped in to "save/assist" the Oilers so they didn't bottom-out and potentially die. Ironically, the same thing happened in Pittsburgh I suspect, with the team owing Mario tons of money, being near the bottom in attendance (which the Oilers are not), and a mess financially, they had to.
Hmmmm, how do you save a franchise? By selevtively giving them priority picks.... - Flyers_V88
I don't even know where to begin. So the Oilers finished last twice and second last once. They won 1 lottery that they weren't the favourite to. Do you think the NHL fixed the games to make them finish last? What makes you think this other than your opinion?

from an Oiler fan?? How many years with the #1 pick in a row??
Last place from game 1 on!!!! - Garnie
The Oilers are in a rebuild and are a few points behind your team with games in hand. Have you ever seen your team win anything or are you just going on history and what you've seen on black and white footage?

Good mention, however, I wouldn't say it's like the Edmonton situation... Chicago, more than anything, was just the beneficiary of essentially two great draft picks-ups in Kane and Toews.
My main argument is that had this happened to any team, I'd feel the same way. I have no hate on for anything Oilers related. I just don't like when it *appears* that the NHL probably had a hand in giving them those picks in order to rectify the franchise. Assuming you can keep those picks, you'll be almost exactly like Pittsburgh now, having 3 supestars and a group of other solid draftees. Especially if Dubnyk rounds into a solid starter, you'll be laughing. - Flyers_V88
It's called drafting maybe your team should try it sometime

No Jones wouldn't suit at all. Everyone know Leaf fans know how to build winners.

I would. Making the playoffs is great and all but winning a cup would be better, down the road Grabs won't be there. Kadri is showing he can be a solid 2. Right now you can roll with Bozak for this year and give Colbourne a look. Its not like Grabo leaving will make them lose out on the playoffs anyway. - aminnes
I wouldn't worry about cups just yet

Toronto is just about the youngest team in the NHL and going through a big youth movement. Toronto will be 6 pts ahead of Edmonton after tonight with 2 games in hand for Edmonton (probably lose those 2 games though). I wouldn't be very proud to be an Oilers fan, that's for sure - at minimum, you shouldn't be on a Leafs blog talking about your crappy team!! |

So many number 1 picks and Edmonton still sucks and will suck for years to come....and when their players can get the F@CK out of dodge, you know they will.

I smelt the toronto locker room. It smelt like like those condoms that have spermicide in them mixed with a hint of 7-11 beef jerky. I really dont know what the hell they do in their for pregame warmups. Phaneuf needs to get his act together. |

I don't mean to rip on the Leafs they were part of one of the greatest plays in hockey in one of the greatest games in one of the best series ever. Gretzkys high stick on Gilmour in 93 was just awesome. Gretzky scored the winner in OT and had a hat trick in game 7. Awesome
