Its gonna cost more than that. Your trading for a guy with high end career numbers and experience. It's probly gonna take grabs, a 2nd rounder and maybe some midling prospect.

I would. Making the playoffs is great and all but winning a cup would be better, down the road Grabs won't be there. Kadri is showing he can be a solid 2. Right now you can roll with Bozak for this year and give Colbourne a look. Its not like Grabo leaving will make them lose out on the playoffs anyway.

Yes we all understand this, but the act of waiving the clause was made solely by Komisarek. Without Komi waiving Toronto could not do anything.

Once the waiver period (48 hours) has passed, they can trade him again. Until that time, he's hanging out there for anyone to take.

It's a lot more streamlined than MLB waivers, where if a player is claimed, the waiving team can choose to remove him from waivers and potentially work out a deal with the claiming team.

Leafs have nothing nobody wants, unless kessel or jvr is going and that's not happening. Your useless pieces ain't getting ya poop

It's the timing that makes this a story, IMHO. The Leafs needed to clear a roster spot yesterday for Gardiner, but they sent down Holzer. Why didn't they approach Komisarek about waiving the NMC then? (Or why didn't Komisarek approach the Leafs; whichever way you think it happened.) Given that they don't play until tonight, there was time to make the move.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not buying Ek's typical "WHERE THERE'S SMOKE THERE'S FIRE!!!" (I abhor the cliché.) But it at least seems like Nonis is giving himself options.
