They came up with a model to have an overall ranking using several sources, like CSB, ISS, TSN, McKeen's and others to give an overall ranking that's a composite picture.

They also have a mock draft posted. NHL.com also has mocks posted, which get updated quite often.

You can see where Bill gets the idea that Jones could be the lone defenseman grabbed in the top ten, although I think we will see more, myself.

If the Flyers draft outside of the top 3 (4-6 or so), I'd prefer they try to trade down to maybe the 9-11 spot. Grab best available there, and then look at defensemen with some 2nd round picks (assuming you'd get one in the trade of the first round pick).

I'd want at least a high 2nd, if not more to drop from 4 to 9. Not only will you get a slightly lesser player, you potentially miss out on Nurse, Ristolainen and Zadorov, who could climb into that area.

Very good two way player. He's a guy that could drop, because his ceiling isn't as high as some of the others in that grouping of players, but he's also a very safe pick, because he's a very fundamentally sound player with smarts.

There really is the potential to grab a star player here. Since the team is lousy, it's certainly something to get excited about.

And yea, I'd be on board with Babcock I think. If he wants a challenge he's got one

I would bet that if the Flyers end up picking 2-7, they'll take a forward. If they drop out of the top 7, they'll take a defenseman.

A lot depends on the lottery. I could see a team like Columbus or Washington taking Nate MacKinnon. I could see Florida grabbing Drouin.

I posted last night, if they are at 7, and Lindholm and Shinkaruk are the only "top ten" forwards left, I think they go with Nurse.

I'd need a first round pick to drop from 4 to 9.

Wow. Look at this. Great use of resources. Good job, good effort. Spending the most money, and being one of the worst teams don't generally go hand and hand.

They're not reaching that far, unless they pick up a late first rounder.

I honestly don't have the first clue. I just wanted to inject some humor and see how that went over. I just picked two random centers from down the list. I have no idea even who they are.

They are definitely guys that would be on the radar if the Flyers were having their typical season, which makes it even more funny.

OB18 and I have kicked their names around in the event the Flyers either got hot or added a pick in the 20's.
