Trade 3 UFAs in 2014 who will all be in their 30s by then for 3 RFAs under all under 24 who have undetermined potentials. Yeah the Avs are just jonesying for that deal.

We are very far off, our management and coaching staff needs to go before we can even think about playoffs. And even if there this urge to make the playoffs now, that is mortgaging a huge huge part of a franchises future to maybe make the playoffs and have the chance to have all UFAs walk.

What would you give up? I agree, I'm ok with CGY eating some salary, but it has to befor a great return. Say, Jbo and 1.5mil for Couts and a pick. I would also take a bad but expiring contract to help or even increase value.

First, Oreilly cannot be traded until next year. Secondo, Vanek/Pominville/Miller cannot help Buffalo getting into the playoffs so how are they going to help CO?
The Avalanche has all the offense they need. If they can improve their defense, they will be set for a long run.

No one will get Landeskog out of COL. he is the captain at 19 years old. Also, O'Reilly isn't available for trade until next feb. 28 due to the Flames offer sheet and subsequent match by COL.
