Joe Morrow
How has Joe Morrow been progressing? I saw a prospect analysis on twitter today via NHL Young Guns Daily (@YoungGunsDaily) that compared Morrow to Kulikov from the Panthers. Is that a good comparison? I always thought Morrow had awesome offensive upside...
Also, do you think Morrow could be possibly shipped to Calgary in an Iginla package? I would love to see Iggy play with Sid just like in Vancouver 2010! - panthers92
Kulikov will be a good d-man in this league. Hope Morrow follow his steps ![](https://hbcf.s3.amazonaws.com/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif)
If Iginla wants to play for Pittsburgh, awessome...but Morrow is not going anywhere. Not for Iginla. |

Grigorenko sent back to juniors.
Good job burning a year off his ELC for your last place team Darcy. What a trainwreck. - canadianpenfan

He's getting traded, the sooner people come to grips with that the easier it will be when it happens. |

Morrow isn't going anywhere in a deal. - Oneonta Penguin
Why not???
Pens already have Despres, and Pouliot/Maata coming through the ranks...these are all Awesome D prospects so one of them will have to be traded. Not to mention Pens ALREADY have Letang. Do you want to win the cup or not? |

He won't be getting more than $7M or less than $6M from us. He knows that by now. I think he'll settle for $6-6.5M. |

No. We just want to load up on as many prospects as possible. That's the name of the game chief. |

yes Kulikov is solid but hasn't developed into a 1st pair defenseman...he's more of a solid 2nd pairing guy. I think Morrow CAN be better than him, but maybe he won't. |

Because Morrow could easily be among out top six next year. He is close to being ready. We have Letang, but for how much longer? Pouliot and Maatta are still at best two, most likely three years away from contributing.
I would like to See Shero deal one of the D prospects for a long term solution, not a seven week rental like Iggy. D prospect and a first rounder for a non need really in Iggy isn't good asset management IMO. We could use him, but he isn't needed. |

He would have been better off just leaving him up and letting him take his lumps at this point. Darcy (frank)ed up with him twice in one season. |

I don't understand this decision. Let him finish out the season and gain more experience. You have already burned one year of his entry level contract.

I think Morrow is much better than Maatta...Iginla is the perfect rental piece, and let's all be honest, the guy will KILL for a cup. Morrow would be a small price to pay for another cup. |

Iggy isn't the missing piece. He would be fourth or fifth on the list. Giving up a first and a top D prospect for Iggy isn't smart when we have other holes. We don't have any trouble scoring goals. Our top line is already one of the best in hockey, if not the best, so why upgrade? |

Does Grigorenko's free agency clock still tick? Because I know there was another cutoff from the ELC with the FA clock as well. |

Absolutely agree, it's highly unlikely he signs an extension before the 2013-2014 season. At that point, Shero begins to inquire about trade packages... |

If Crosby can make Kunitz a superstar, what do you think he will do with Iginla??...goaltending is the problem on this team, so they can never score enough goals. Iginla crosby, kunitz, neal, malkin, sutter, dupuis.....Sounds like an unstoppable lineup to me. |

Totally agree... Let him play some games with Vanek, put him in a position to succeed.
I guess he doesn't care, it's not like he can still be there in two years when his ELC expires, right? |

I came to the conclusion a few months back, he would be the one going in a deal. You don't send Malkin packing. I wouldn't be stunned totally if Letang was dealt in the offseason, say right before the draft.
Because of the uncertainty, Despres should be the one getting the experience, not Engelland or Bortuzzo. |

We are unstoppable already. Why can't you see that? We are the highest scoring team in the league. Goaltending isn't the biggest problem on this team. We need a physical stay at home defenseman. Our collection of blueliners as a whole is questionable at times. We need a physical presence on the third line.
So, its a given that Kunitz and Crosby form chemistry with Iggy immediately? Doesn't work that way. Why screw with chemistry on this part?
I'm beginning to think people outside of Pittsburgh have no clue what the real weaknesses are with this team when they show. It's certainly not our offense. They think we should improve on our strength and outscore people 10-9.
We scored tons of goals last year in the play-offs versus Philly and lost. Iggy wouldn't have helped that one iota. |

He'd be good here but not for Morrow. Maybe for Dumoulin+Conditional1st (if he re-signs) |
