Nisk hurt his knee earlier in the year, and he was flying before that. If you go back to old blogs on here, you will remember everyone singing his praises.

He is far from 100%, you can see it when he thinks about pinching, he doesn't have the same length or strength in his skating stride, and I would be it is effecting his ability to back up quickly.

The addition of Ladislav Smid would result in one of the deepest defenses in the league. Smid is just as physical as Orpik, probably more physical than Orpik this season.

Brenden Morrow would add grit, veteran leadership, and obvious scoring depth. With Morrow on our team we would finally have a legitimate 2nd Power Play unit for the first time all season.

If Shero could pull off both of these guys I'd be sooooooooooo happy.

Almost there without Kaleta.

If we do get him we almost have to go after Rinaldo too, then we could move the team to Charelston and get everyone some sweet fur coats.

Nisk takes a beating nightly. He puts himself in positions to get hit sometimes needlessly. Obviously I'm never going to complain about a guy taking a hit to make a play, but sometimes it seems avoidable.

Truthfully much like Cooke if he cut the BS he is a good player, except he is a 4th liner not a 3rd liner like Cooke

at least he stays in there as you say. Some guys are just bad at helping themselves with contact. There is no crime trying to avoid it if you can, its a long season when you get to the playoffs and every hit hurts.

Nice write up by Lebrun on Kuni...

Except for this part:

"Just a year and a half later, he was sent to Pittsburgh in a deal that netted the Ducks Ryan Whitney and Eric Tangradi. And like any player traded for the first time, it hit him like a jack-hammer."

I think the real question should be...when is Bartley going to return so he can tell us all when the pens will make their move and who they are going to acquire.

MY bet is RS moves Letang for Ryan or Eberle and a 2nd, maybe even a prospect... similiar to Staal deal... RS is going to see Letang is pricing himself out of Pittsburgh and they have depth at D with Offensive dmen...

if anythign he is sending tk, jeffrey, nisk or burtuzzo and 3rd for iggy...

Finally.... Bylsma decides to play advantageous D with Depres for Eaton swap. I think thats exactly what you get... Eaton is safe but Depres can transition to the forwards better.

Not at all. How many goals is enough? 3.70 goals/game should be more than enough.
- Gunner Staal

well... don;t know what to say... if you don't think 110 goals is better than 100 goals then I can't think about anyway to debate anymore. mmmnnnnnn.........

I agree. The idea of "Who cares if they score 6, we'll score 7" died in the 90's. With the Penguins scoring 3.7 goals/game the last thing they need is more offense. Blueline help/improvement is what is needed.
- Ben37

see above not to gunner staal. You have it very wrong. I don't care if we win scoring 1 goals or 8 goals... but the odds of winning when you score 8 would seem to be a lot better.

Despres just continues to amaze me at his composure in our d-zone when handling the puck and making an outlet pass.
