Thompson or Hendricks are the two targets I would put up there for a fourth line upgrade. Neither cost alot. - Oneonta Penguin
Always thought about Hendricks as a loser. Can't fight. Just don't like him. I'd rather stick to Nate Thompson. |

Again:
Love Bennett and all he's done but I am worried about the playoffs and the grind/physicality it takes. We need to bring a guy that can replace him (if needed). |

I'm afraid to see Bennett as our only solution to round the top 6. We need to bring another guy for the playoffs. The physical game will be at its highest level.
Remember we had a lot more depth in 08-09 cup run...I think we had Sykora/Satan on the bench..
A 4th liner, a top 6-9 wing tough to play against and a stay at home D. Call it a day.
Nate Thompson (plenty of options), Ryane Clowe (or Purcell/McGinn/Morrow) and Ladislav Smid (or Regehr/Giordano/Sarich) - Orpik44
Yeah, there's option out there for sure.
Clowe
McGinn
Morrow
Cullen
Raymond
Penner
MacArthur
Weiss
Paajarvi
Thompson
Cleary
Morrow
Nystrom
Gomez
Hedjuk
Alfredsson
Iginla
Comeau
Glencross
Hecht
Boyes
Some won't really be options that fit but there's some guys that could be on the move. |

I like Vitale but I prefer Jeffrey. Sorry - Killian
I respectfully disagree with you. Jeffrey certainly deserves a crack on the 3rd and 4th lines if not more in the future, because of Glass not doing well offensively, but he can't do what Vitale does. He's just not wired that way. Vitale never takes a shift off and he wins faceoffs for days. I wasn't a big fan of his in the past but he's earned a ton of respect from me. |

Yeah, there's option out there for sure.
Clowe - not worth the asking price for a rental
McGinn - would LOVE, but an RFA and Colorado needs to keep
Morrow - late 3rd and get it done
Cullen - not sure the Wild will deal him now that things are rolling and he is playing well.
Raymond - always liked Mason Raymond.
Penner - PASS - pure garbage
MacArthur - he isn't a third line player for the Pens IMO
Weiss - injured - out for year I believe
Paajarvi - finally starting to show some results. I think Edmonton keeps him
Thompson - Get it done
Cleary - Perfect third line guy - not sure Detroit deals him
Nystrom - fourth line guy - nothing more
Gomez - PASS
Hedjuk - would love to have, but stays in Colorado
Alfredsson - will not leave Ottawa
Iginla - pure rental and don't like the cost. I bet he stays in Calgary
Comeau - pass
Glencross - would love to have; he is one vet Calgary needs to keep
Hecht - PASS
Boyes - could help

That's better, yes.
I do hope Glass can turn it up though. I hate to see players go all 'square peg in a round hole' for the Penguins. |

Hendricks is a solid 3rd/4th line guy (and a guy who gives maximum effort - to me the exact opposite of a loser) - don't see what he would bring to the Pens at the moment, but it tells you all you need to know about the state of the Caps that Hendricks is often getting minutes on the top line. |

Maybe I'm late but....Tortorella TOP 10:

He's an ass. He's also a good coach, but he's still an ass. He complains about the media, but yet he says things that make himself the center of attention again and again. Don't think for a minute that its not calculated. |

He didn't stick when he was with them before, but I liked what he brought to the table. He'd be an upgrade on the 4th line. Go get him Ray! |

That's a very good question. I'd say Torts is hurting himself with his media battles, but then again he works for a franchise that willingly hired John Tortorella. |

It would be nice if Kennedy could be bumped to the fourth line by a bigger, more physical player with a bit more offensive upside. Then the 4th is pure energy and effort, and all 3 players are defensively responsible. The 3rd just hasn't produced, Sutter has played far better with top 6 wingers. If we could get two big bottom six players that would be even better
I'd like to see:
Kunitz - Crosby - Duper
Bennett - Malkin - Neal
Cooke - Sutter - TRADE
Adams - Vitale - Kennedy - TRADE
And a D-man that can kill penalties and move bodies.
Despres - Letang
Martin - Orpik
TRADE - Niskanen
I think that the most important thing for our playoff chances are Letang and Orpik playing more sound, defensively dynamic hockey though. And some serious PK work. |
