would rather keep bozak over grabo. one of kuli/mac needs to be moved alone with liles. komi can be dumped for a 6th rounder to a team making a run looking for depth on the blue line. could easily get 3rd C in return + 2nd rounders or a 1st in a package.
gives us something like this for next year
JVR/bozak/kessel
lupul/kadri/frattin
kuli(mac)/ 3RD C/ashton
komo/mcclement/Orr
mccleran - shill-17
Mclement could be third line centre but I thin we need more scoring out of our third line since we do not have a superstar centre |

The Canucks thread has been great lately for that. They used to pester me to post Luongo/Schneider VS Reimer/Scrivens stats. They stopped calling, bastards. - systemtool
Yeah but he`s banned me twice already, almost as bad as the Hawks thread! |

leafs are gonna make it this year I think, so long as the goaltending doesn't implode...
I really feel like the Sens are going to keep grinding out points right to 9th place..which kinda sucks...stache as them believing they can win every night and the goaltending is keeping them in games...will be interesting to see how it plays out - TheMike12
Believe it or not, the Sens should be cheering for the Leafs to beat the Jets this week in both games. Jets are one of about 3-4 teams on the outside looking in and are probably the only legit thread to Ottawas playoff spot aside from the Flyers. Cheer the Leaf, you limey. |

I really think that the Leafs need to shore up their checking line. I'm not sold on Kulimen and there needs to be another MacClement type center for the 4th line. If we could get Clowe, to anchor the checking line, his size and strength will become valuable, against teams like Boston and Pittsburgh. We can't expect to dress both Orr and MacLaren, down the stretch. MacLaren has a bit more skating ability, so I give him the nod. - PrinceLH
We have a McClement type center for the 4th line and his name is Jay McClement. He has only been playing up due to injuries. He'll be back on the 4th line next game as Komarov will take his spot on the Grabo line now that Frattin has returned. When Lupul comes back McClement is even more solidified to stay on that 4th line for good. |

not saying re target a superstar centre thats why i said 3rd C Mcclement could job in easily and would succeed in the role for sure if we brought in a tougher 4th line guy or another agitator to play with komo. Mac gives us the scoring on a third line or kuli can get about 10-15 a year when hes working hard on a good year 20 lets hope Mcclement is another 10 goal guy and ashton i think would be about the same after he settles in. so offence is there wont be in big numbers but would be a great shutdown line. |

Reality is Nonis is VERY open too offers for Bozak, Macarthur, Kulemin and Grabo and also needs to move 1 or 2 D which could be anyone and thats besides Connely and Stecks. |

Problem is, if this team is playoff bound at the deadline, then theyre not going to do much in the way of the selling game unless another team blows them away with an offer. |

Yes, thats the problem Nonis faces, Mr. Cope didn`t give a crap about this season but now he does so Nonis needs to carefully balance a playoff spot and build for next year, in a tough spot |

I honestly don`t know why we talk about Clowe, thinkin maybe everyone just wants to see something happen? - cdjaakkola
We need a big tough winger, that we throw out there, in the last minute of the game, to get the puck out of our end. Someone that can play at any time and drop the gloves, when necessary. We need to get the checking line set, so we can make a run in the playoffs. Clowe might be the difference maker, in a series against the Habs or Sens. The way the standings look right now, it's conceivable, that the Leafs and Habs may hook up in the first round. Once Boston uses up their games in hand, the Habs are destined for 4th and we sit 5th. |

If McClement goes to the 4th line, then we need some size and grit on the 2nd/3rd line, with Grabovski. Clowe fits the bill. |

Clarkson would be better. Seriously though, this team shouldnt be buying. Sell or go with what ya gots. |

If Clarkson is reasonable, but I don't see him being reasonable, at the trade deadline. I see Clowe going relatively cheap and I like his size and toughness. He doesn't have to score many goals, just prevent them and take care of the dirty little bastards, like what dots the Habs lineup. I just like his presence in the blue paint at the other end and along the wall. |

Well it`s not costly but, Nonis has to weigh this with the value he can get with everyone else and what that brings the team now and tomorrow? Hate to be Nonis right now! |

Our trajectory is starting to point towards a matchup against the Habs. Time to arm the team with strength and toughness. That's what works on those little pr!cks, so lets get on with building a bruising team for the playoffs. |
