This team is currently built around Vanek. In my opinion, Vanek is major complimentary player but not who you build a team around. He is too inconsistent to be the focus of a team.
- GilPerreault11

Well, even with his inconsistancies, he leads the team every season in points and goals!

He's not the guy to lead the team (which he's pretty much doing right now). And he is complimentary. He needs help. Move Van for a true leader that can put up some points too. Callahan and a few picks (like that would happen..) for example. Work our young guys around that and build. Draft a MacKinnon or Drouin. Sprinkle in Armia, Grigo and Girg's in a few years and you could have something.

Just some drunken ramblings...

Miller and Vanek are staying.
Anybody else is a fair game.

- Sabresfan88

We would get the biggest return for both players and should try and get 1 or 2 top 5 picks in this years draft. I think the panthers would take vanek + for their first round pick. He gives them the scorer that they desperately need and if we get a drouin or jones player I would be happy at the end of the day

These games are getting harder and harder to watch, inconsistent effort put into every play.
It's really frustrating, we point fingers at people like Ruff, the Buffalo Sabres organization got a man 25 years invested into this team, fired because of their own sh!tty play, you'd think they would play with that as a sign of, "Hey, wake the heck up, it's time to start playing."

If Miller goes anywhere I only see it being Detroit, hometown and the calibre of some of the players there

Our division rivals have already shown us how to do a quick turnaround. They werent that bad of a team last season. Not too much change from their team this season, in terms of who is contributing.

Unload some pieces nearing and at the deadline -- Kostitsyn (Stafford), Cammalleri (Pommer), Regher/Leopold (Spacek/Gill)

Bring in a key second line winger -- ??? (Rene Borque)

Top 3 draft pick, forward -- ??? (Galchenyuk)

Young prospect ready to step up to NHL -- Armia? Is Flynn the guy? (Gallagher)

Bring in our young D-Men now -- McNabb, Pysyk (Emelin, Diaz)

IMO Van gets your biggest return and should be moved. For the money Miller can leave and I'd be disappointed but not devastated. Pommer is a useful, versatile player. He just needs the 'C' taken off.
- Pairo11

Can't just strip a player of the C you do that you must deal him.

Mike Modano took off the C in Dallas to give it to Brenden Morrow

Pomminville would consider it an honor to hold Modano's jockstrap

you're right it doesn't happen alot but it should, a teams chemistry and make up should change over time, leading to changes in the locker room as well

well, that should happen, unless you're the Sabres who are molded in the image of their purse carrying wuss bag GM

They were talking this morning on the NHL XM channel about how LA is looking for D. Namely a stay at home D. Regher?

Sabres could definitely find a buyer for Regehr if they wanted to. They should try to move him.

Leo and Regehr just about gone I hope. Pommers and Miller as well as long as there is another goalie coming back.

Stafford, Regehr, Leopold, and 1 of the big 3 will be traded IMO. And maybe a suprise player we aren't thinking about, I would love another Hodgson like trade where we fill a teams need and get a good young player back

Even if they don't move any of the big 3, just to move Stafford alone is a win for the Sabres.
