This is a serious question for Penguins fans:
How do you feel about not having Max Talbot anymore? I know he dropped off in production and was a healthy scratch. But, the dude was pretty important in winning the Cup for 2 things:

- In Game 6, when the Flyers went up 3-0 he challenged Carcillo who (stupidly) fought him. The Pens quickly got energized, scored a quick goal, and went on to win the game/series. If they end up going down, there's a game 7 in Pittsburgh, and who knows what happens.
- Game 7 Detroit. Only 2 goals.

I know you can't live in the past in sports, but that guys was so key to that Cup win that I can't believe he was able to walk so soon after.

i love max. i think his total lack of all production this year is just as shocking as his goal outburst last year. i feel like his actual skill level dictates numbers that are somewhere in the middle. but the things that made him awesome were never the things that showed up in the box score anyway. i hate that he signed with the flyers, but for the amount of money they gave him its hard to have any hard feelings. he was a great guy and parlayed that into a pretty big contract for his level of skill

I had a Talbot t-shirt that I burned in a bon fire. But I think that had more to do with who he signed with than the fact that he left.

He was a good trooper while he was here, but he is a dime-a-dozen player.

Cap casualty. You paid him too much. I would have loved to have kept him for close to what he was making with us.

Given the current group in the bottom 6, Id rather have Talbot over Glass or TK. I think most fans would want him back because of how bad our bottom 6 has been lately. When he first left, it wasnt such a bitter pill to swallow because our bottom 6 still had Staal. This is probably the year that we couldve used him the most since he left.

I think the Penguins should let Kris Letang go to free agency. He's useless.

We all liked him as a person and a player in the cup run but he started to be lazy and wasn't producing much. Good locker room guy. A jokester. We are quite happy with Vitale on the 4th line. I guess he matched well in Philly.

The Flyers have 3 defensemen? You do know that Pronger is injured and Desjardins retired, right?

Also, fantasy should never trump real life, unless it's Total Recall (the Ahnold one).

I guess I couldn't say the same about me right?

How about Bartley? Is he a new Sean Avery?

Nothing wrong with rooting for a 2-1 Pens win. Given the way the team defense has been this year I would venture we should all be pulling for that. PRIORITIES

If Talbot had produced in the post cup years the way he did before, he'd still be here. It wasn't just points...he just wasn't the same player in terms of his impact shift in and shift out as he'd shown before. Coupled with the Flyers silly offer, there was now way the pens were going to match that.
