By adding Grabs to that line, I still think the problem ultimately becomes a lack of physicality. I agree that Grabs would be 'better' than Boyes on that line, but I think we have to find a more physical battler who also happens to carry some speed and finishing ability. Grabs has two of those three so he's certainly a better choice than Boyes, but I'd really like to see us put someone like Ulstrom on that line. He's shown decent tenacity in the corners and an ability to get a quick release on the puck. He probably needs to improve his passing though.

Oh yeah, you won't hear me argue with the need for a power forward on that line. But, out of the options we have on the team now...

It's the advantage of sometimes agreeing with the pack and other times agreeing with the Snowy's. I'm part of the independent party!

For the record, "Blindly Positive Kasperrko" makes some great points!

Exactly, it's why I'd at least give Ulstrom a chance. He's the only one on this team with a mix of physicality and skill.

I blame Wang for a lot of stupidity on this organization (DP's contract, Yashin's contract, Sparky, oddball culture). I don't blame him from a finance perspective becasue if I were in his shoes I'd probably do the same thing, but I'd be doing it with an eye on 2015. If he gives us more of the same after they move, I'll be louder than anyone in getting rid of him.

It is so hard to be positive all teh time. I dont know how some guys do it. KO drives me insane and AMAC and JACK. More than anyone, but oh well every year it is some one. Last year it was Bailey

I know I'm sick of losing and seeing this team flounder the way they do. I do think we've got some players in the system who will make this team much better than the present makeup, but waiting for a team to rebuild based completely off of draft picks probably begs for more patience than any fan should have to give. Especially when considering the length of time we've suffered PRIOR to Snow taking over. Hell, three of this clubs biggest prospects aren't even professionals yet.

Nope..it certainly doesn't. As I said, I take more offence at the culture he wants to add than the finance.

I think with all his troubles scoring, if Okposo was finishing his checks he'd be a lot less of a target. Against Ottawa I counted at least three opportunities on one shift to put a shoulder into someone and each time he skated past them without touching them. It's a bad habit for him along with shoddy balance, one hand on the stick and flailing at the puck and trying the inside outside move.

lot of bad habits with his game. Not much in the way of effort to change those. He can skate as hard as he wants but if he keeps missing the fundamentals he's never going to get better. Two hands on the stick, finish your checks, shoot when you have the opportunity.

I've looked at that replay a couple of times now and while his foot unquestionable goes forward and hit the player, it had NOTHING to do with that player going down.
- keaner17

I guess we can disagree. We can probably agree that in live speed, it's an easy call for the official to make. I can't kill him on that. It appeared to me that kyle took his legs out whether accidentally or on purpose.

The Hamonic/Amac pairing is AWFUL. Look, typically a defensemen takes longer to mature in the NHL. It simply takes longer to learn to react to transition and find your man. Because he was so good in his rookie year, everyone forgets that Hamonic is still early in those developmental stages. Pairing him with a physically challenged player like AMac is a BAD move. I'd much rather see Martinek on the ice at this point than AMAC.

I think the biggest sin this organization commits from a culture aspect (and I blame Wang) is this loyalist approach to never punishing guys who are seen as the owners pet. Amac and Okposo are two of those guys, as was DP and Yashin. Utlimately, Amac is a marginal NHL player who shouldn't be playing more than 8-10 minutes a night at best. Certainly shouldn't be paired with a 22 year old dman who's just learning how to play in this league.

I know people say Grabner and Tavares don't work well together because they didn't light league on fire in the very limited time they were on each other's line last season, but I think this year's Grabner would have a lot of success there. Grabner demands some attention, and if you're keeping an eye on him, it's one less eye on Tavares. The neutral zone wouldn't be a comedy for that line either. It's painful watching all the ways Moulson and Boyes try to come up with to make the play everyone knows is coming...give the puck to Tavares so he can carry it up ice.
- UIF

I agree with this. Grabner can create space for both Tavares and Moulson with his speed. Moulson obviouly is very sneaky and has great sense of where to be. I wouldn't mind trying Bailey on that line either. He isn't lighting the world on fire but he might be the only other forward capable of carrying the puck through defenders which would also create more room.

To me,Boyes is a poor mans Moulson. Very similar game except less smarts with the puck and without the puck for that matter. Those three don't seem great together. He would be better suited playing with Neilson in my opinion.

which is why I think now more than any other time during this "rebuild" we need an experienced coach. I'm not sure Capuano and his staff are capable of getting the best out of these young players. And, if Snow thinks he has then it's time to move on from Okposo for sure. I do think Bailey is becomming a good NHL player but certainly not a top 10 pick worthy player. However that happens sometimes. He can be a good 3rd line player.

It's an absolute shame with his size that he isn't playing that way. Hell, Datsyuk is more physical than KO, along with being better offensively & defensively.

It's the responsibility of the coaching staff to take the talented players and teach them what it takes to make it in this league. Dominating at Shatticuk St.Mary's doesn't necessarily translate to the NHL. I expect much more of KO but I blame Cappy & Garth MORE for his lack of development, as I do in regards to the other players. IMO, GS/JC are the two BIGGEST PROBLEMS with this team. Both are in, way over their heads and too stubborn or ignorant to recognize or admit it. Players play the way they play unless told/showed differently. Sitting a player at the END of the season doesn't get the message across with any effectiveness, as we are all witness to - KO from end of last season was NOT the KO we saw to begin this one. Maybe all the basketball he watched affected his game. ??????
