your going to take the LIRR and go? who cares if the coliseum is run down. I love the atmosphere there, even though im a fan of the opposing team. Tickets are at least very affordable and you end up having the same good time as you would at a newer arena. mind you at wells fargo center i paid 60$ to sit in the very last row of the nosebleed of a regular season game against carolina....

I love the NVMC, I dont care that the bathrooms are very ill conceived, I don't really ever use em. I dont care that the building is 40+ years old, I dont care that its run down.

It has the best sight lines, the sound when that place is rocking is unmatched & it only took me 20 min to get there in traffic.

lack of sky boxes was the biggest design flaw when it was built, they tried to fix it & added a few a couple decades ago but they just aren't enough & the building was never maintained at all.

Ill miss the old barn, ill miss my seats in 303... but if they cant get a new building in Nassau, this is the best option to them... 20 years in Brooklyn.

"When asked what they did differently, Jack said they didn’t do anything different, except battle. “We’ve gotten some bad bounces here, there’s no questioned. We battled and got the win against a pretty good hockey team.” CAPPY

A win is a win is a win but you got the win because you faced an opponent with 4 of its top players OUT.

Including the Norris Trophy winner. Top two scoring forwards on the team and this years Top performing Goalie.

A team that played 3 games in 4 day on the road.

And you barely squeaked out a win. With a very lacklust effort and one hell of a boring game to watch.

And I'm getting a little tired of Matt Martin turning down invitations to dance.

Why? THANKFULLY he's no Konopka, MM picks & chooses the right time to drop em & the right reason. Nothing is worse for the game that 2 guys dropping the gloves just to drop em.

It was right after a big hit that Martin put on a Ottawa forward. It was borderline charge. Neil came over. Martin declined. The score was either 1-1 or 1-0 Isles so it wasnt like an inopportune time.

IMO by declineing the invitation. It opens up an opportunity for the oposing team to go to plan "B". Take a run at one of our forwards. Most likely one who wont fight back. Fortunately the game stayed close and that didnt happen.

But hockey players have long memories and I would expect it to happen in a future game.

I'm not suggesting MM go around and pick fights for no reason. Yesterday there was a reason. Part of his job is fighting. He didnt answer the call IMO.

What penalty???

5 mins Martin and 5 mins Neil?

Thats a plus for the Isles.

We can only hope that MM becomes the player Neil is someday.

1-0...and Ottawa was listless at the time. I thought it was a good call to not fight and give the Sens a spark. I guess later in the game they could have revisited it, but if Neil sparked an Ottawa rally with a fight there, we'd be killing Martin for giving that to them today.

What another amazing game for the Islanders yesterday. They are battling like crazy out there. Kyle Okposo penalty in teh third period was a thing of beauty. Way to go Kyle you are really doing some awesome work out there. I thought the boys looked great. We are on our way to the playoffs boys. Jack is the best coach I have ever seen. He got them motivated to get two points. Lets Go Islanders

It really is amazing. That was not a bad call it was the right call. Kyle Slew footed that guy with 2 Mins to play. Its nice to get 2 points in OT but 2 points in regulation is how you gain ground in the standings.

Especially since we get so many more bad bounces. Do the blackhawks complain about playing 3 games in 4 nights. No the won all 3 of them.
Does Quenville specialize in getting LUCKY BOUNCES for his team?

Maybe Hamonic shoud be used in front of the net on PP. Turns out he is good at Deflecting pucks into the net. LOL.

And no question Ullstrom, Martin and Finley were being way too physical. If you want to gain ICE time just do what KO does. Thats how you get rewarded. The fact that KO played in OT says it all.

winning in shootout vs Ottawa's Third String goalie is nothing to write home about.

Going to have to play a better game against Montreal and Rangers this week. We missed our chances last week> now we need 2 wins this week to get into playoff position.

really??

that's not a slew foot. Okposo got his foot up but the push is what sent Condra to the ice... if Okposo would have slew footed him, he would have fallen backwards. Regardless, I hate Okposo but that was a bullpoop call.

He had a bad game yesterday. First goal, too...he passed the puck right to Zibanejad.

disagree,. Kyle's foot definitely came up and hit the back of his skate but the guy fell FORWARD. You don't fall forward when getting slew-footed from behind. It was Okposo actually using his body for once that caused the player to fall.

As for the second bold...that's exactly what I said last night!

or Grabner leaving Alfie on his stomach to make that centering feed that hit the bar! The defensive lapses this team commits on a nightly basis is mind boggling.

Keep making excuses. Cappy make them all the time too. It was penalty. up in game it was unnecessary, Kyle was doing what he does best. Being Lazy. he overskated the guy and then felt the need to take him down.

Again, Win again 3rd string Ott goalie in shootout is very unimpressive.
Anderson or Bishop play and we lose that game.

UIF, xXx. You can disagree. No problem.

UIF I would never get on a player for answering the Bell. It takes a lot of courage to fight.

Every time a guy who is in the line up to add a physical presence gets the call I'll assume he feels he's not going to get his ass kicked. Otherwise he's in the wrong business.

So Since we are being hypothetical. ( U assume MM was going to lose) Suppose MM accepts and wins the fight!

Gives the Isles a needed boost and we dont need any last minute heroics to pull this game out of the Crapper.

Isle werent exactly flying high yesterday at that time. They can use all the incentive they can get. That game put me to sleep yesterday.

I thought our effort was pitiful & a bit embarrassing all around for the Isles even with the win.
Especially considering the condition of Ottawa.

Ottawa was RIPE for PICKING yesterday. Had we lost it would have been inconceivable. Isles allowed Ottawa to stay in the game for way to long. It wasnt a game they should write home about.

Excuses? Are you eating paint chips? The call was a bad one, period. Players don't fall forward after being slew-footed. It's called physics.

As for the impressive or unimpressive fashion of the game, I don't think I said anything about that.
