Exactly! Especially when he was producing too. - Nucker101
Not to compare the 2 players, but Boyes was put in the Ruff doghouse last year and was put on the 4th and off the PP and you could tell he could care less after that. He ended up with 20 pts in 60 games. He already has 12 or 13 pts this year playing on the top line in NY. Can't do that to guys with skill.
haven't followed the Nucks lately but why the hell is Kassian not on the first line anymore he seems to have great chemistry and was producing when with the twins - shill-17
Meh, it's been almost a year off for him. He isn't going to shake off the rust on the 4th line. - Nucker101
Put him on the 3rd for a few games, or give him some shifts on the wing, where he won't have as much physical abuse/responsibility.
You can't punish some players for poor play, and not punish others. How is Kassian supposed to get comfortable on the 4th line? I'm sick of the preferential treatment.
Maybe it's a matter of AV just not liking him. You'd hope a pro coach would be above that kind of thing, but I can't think of any other reason for his downward spiral to the 4th line.
Now that he's playing scared, he's not nearly as effective, and AV can say "I told you so..."
I don't (frank)ing know. It's really pissing me off, though. Put the kid in a position to succeed, and leave him there long enough to get a decent evaluation, rather than demoting him a few shifts into a game. - Fosco
Yeah, it seems like once AV makes his mind up about a player, it takes a lot for him to change his opinion.

Yup, I totally agree. It depends on the player's personality too. For some it lights a fire under their ass and others seem to lose interest.

Only problem is that the current roster only has 4 natural centers, I'd like to see AV use him more favorably against weaker lines with more offensive zone starts to get him going 5 on 5.

It has to be confusing to Kassian. He's probably wondering what kind of player AV wants him to be. He's now on the 4th desperately trying not to be out of position or take a dumb penalty so he can get back up the lineup, so it looks like he's just floating now

Yeah, it totally seems that way right now. It's safe to say that he's never going to be much of a two-way player, most power forwards aren't known for their two-way game since they play an aggressive, offensive style so he looks pretty ineffective right now.

Should be fore checking like crazy. Play simple. He has some serious skill for a big dude. I hated that trade...... at first
If Kassian played on the first line with quality players like Vanek and Pominvile like Hodgson. His points weren't far off.... His 5 goals came in something like the first 7 games when he was, playing on the top line. Also Hitting and Fighting are 2 things Hodgson doesn't do that he does that you are not referencing. He is also 1 year behind in development.
Besides all those points... Yes Cody is having a good season for a bad team. Didn't Matt Frickkken Stajan put up numbers on a top line on a bad team as well????? lol
