I played 3 soccer games in a tournment with 3 broken toes one for each game I played, thats manly. - pker2theend
I was making a crude joke about the wording of your post.
I'm sure you're 100x manlier than Kesler. |

Manny says that he truly believes that Mike G is worried about his safety and has been for some time. Basically says that he just isn't ready to give up |

He said he believes that MG was sincere in his concern, but that he doesn't feel that he is at any more risk than any other player out there. Basically, that he is not actually injured... It sets a bad president if his injury is less than authentic. |

Another rough outing so far for Holtby.
Wonder how long Washington will keep him as number 1.
Doesn't seam like they have much faith in Neuvirth(sp?) either. |

Welcome back booner... I was beginning to think you'd succumb to another nasty case of throat hemorrhoids (or whatever the (frank)). Post more often. - DrChristianTroy
I havent been able to stomach this poop that Gillis has done. I did what you did and took a leave of absence. I liked my team more during the lockout for whats its worth and have been confused about where it is headed since last TDL.
Even when this team was recently mopping up the NW, I saw all the familiar things that concern me with this team. Everything is so inevitable that I just want to put my head through a wall. This Kesler injury so soon put me over the top. How could Gillis costantly gamble that this coach and his long running core players are all it takes to win a cup? We can be indifferent about sucking at drafting and trading...we can pat ourselves on the back for getting home town FA's to sign here for assumed less money or convincing players who were here before Gillis to stay and take a discount... "a genius" I keep hearing.... "Sleep doctors and dietrisions"... things that you dont even know that worked or not...easy credit... "a genius..."
This last two seasons has turned into a glaring example of how to paint yourself into a corner with cap burden and lack of quality young players in the system.

No player who still feels they have juice left in the tank want to stop doing what they love. Does not look good for management or coaching though. On another note I have had a hate on for AV for a while. Team needs a shake up. Volpatti on waivers and bringing up someone else doesn't do it for me. I know its only a few losses but a losing attitude is not acceptable on a team with this much potential. Something has to give. |

I am actually surprised Gillis kept him this long after he took over as GM. |

Of course Gillis did that. He did it to Linden too. Thats what Linden was saying....that he hadnt decided if he was going to retire or not and management went ahead and announced it for him. He felt Gillis had no right to to move ahead with the notion. He was offended about the pressure they put on him to retire rather than go public about not offering him a contract and Linden possibly finishing his career not in a Canucks jersey.
Linden was another one of AV's dog house players sad to say. Even when he was contributing more than AV's boys...
There's more and more examples of how sleezy Gillis can be. He's still the same snake that was a controversial agent. His level of respect when talking about the local fans has offended me over the last year... some of us keep score of the lies. He's the one looking stupid these days. You never see the media treating him like he's stupid though....even though he talks about fans and media like they are morons.

Pardon my massive edit, just makes the pages fly by...
I'm not quite ready to convict Gillis. I still feel that he has some good ideas about running a business, I'm just not sure anymore if that business should be a hockey team. I am not keeping score, it doesn't enhance my life in any way, so while I'm not happy with the state of things right now, I am prepared to see how things pan out. Ultimately, I may (likely will) be disappointed, but I've been disappointed for more than 30 years, so its nothing new really |

IR Kesler for the remainder of the season... trade Lu and bring in a big time player with the prorated 11 mil worth of cap relief. There is so much dead weight here right now that more cap relief could be made easily next season as well to accomodate. We need a true top six centre who can rock and roll in the playoffs. Kesler can be the best 3rd line C in the world when he returns which I sincerly give him credit for. A 2nd line C he is not...
I would take Lecavlier absolutely if it were not for the length of tht (frank)ing contract. Exactly what a dozen GM's are probably saying about Luongo.
AV and Bowness still think they are coaching an expasion team 15 years later. Only in their world would they strive to turn everything into three shutdown lines and hold back the one scoring line while short shift the 1st PP unit even though you are running an eggs in one basket appraoch???? |

I understand. Im much more complicated than that and admit it. It certainly doesnt make things easier... it does help me to look at things from a true objectionable position though. Half empty or half full? I usually say it's "a half glass of water idiots".
edit: Gillis would break down the molocules in the water and tell us how they interact and how complicated it is... remind us the half glass of air has mass too and is very a important part of the entire glass itself and tell us "quite frankly it's above our pay grade".... |
