PANTHERS BABY!!!!

SAME STORY DIFFERENT DAY!!

BLOW A 4-1 LEAD

that's what they get for rolling 3 lines out there vs the Penguins. I knew when this game was 4-1 that we'd lose this one. You can't roll out AHL lines against a team primed for a run at the cup. Can't happen. Hockey 101 people.

panthers are a joke.

Well they just won 6-4... I see Weiss was a scratch tonight.

I think so, most Flyer fans are not there yet.

But, if Holmgren can find the right piece, he will pay the price to get his man.

- spatso

If he going to give up those pieces I say he waits till summer and goes after webber.

weber cant be traded until one year after his initial offer sheeted contract, which means the preds would have had to pay him like $24M already before he is eligible to be traded, which means he isnt going anywhere.

Yes I realize that which is why is said the summer. But with trading salary (I believe) they can send someone back and pay part of that salary to take away part of the signing bonus hit

Yeah... that's not gonna happen. Philly should be focusing their attention elsewhere

I wonder how much say Snider has since pretty much every Philly GM seems pretty aggressive.

All two of them over the past twenty years

Yes, Snider does get involved. He is why the Flyers signed Bryzgalov.

I didn't realize Clarke was around for that long(too young to remember or know). I've heard Snider is a pretty hands on type of owner and likes to make big moves.

Technically, it's 3. Clarke was rehired in summer of 1994, right before that work stoppage.

But that was after Ed Snider took over control from his son. Ed had "retired" and Jay Snider was making the decisions. He fired Clarke after the 1989-90 season and hired Russ Farwell, from the WHL.

When Ed stepped back in, it was because he felt Jay and Farwell had been too timid and unsuccessful. The only "daring" move made under Farwell was the Lindros trade and the team missed the playoffs for 5 years.

But now that Ed Snider is 80(and freshly married to a hot 40 year old) he wants to win and pursues it aggressively. Sorry for the history lesson

Flyers should do the subtle tank and try to grab a top 5 pick. Heresy, I guess, in Flyerland. So much for Ek's prediction that all 5 Atlantic division teams would make the playoffs. Maybe all 4 Canadian teams, get in to the playoffs, in the East. Now that would make Bettman groan.
