+1 I want top 5 pick not 8th seed - hubie
It needs to happen, let Terry see first hand that a lot of changes need to be made, not just minor tweaks. If we think we are close because we have a good 30 games coming up, then we will be looking at the same thing next year |

I'm aware, it's Darcy trying to save his job. I would also like to see them with a different coach, but were in a 48 game season and 1/3 through it and we don't resemble a playoff team in the least. Darcy needs to man up and sit down with Terry and tell him what needs to be done for the future of this franchise - sbroads24
The Sabres are clearly thinking of Pittsburgh in 2009. They fired their coach, brought up the guy from the AHL, and then made a blockbuster trade (which I do believe is coming somehow): Ryan Whitney and others were sent off for Kunitz and Bill Guerin. Pittsburgh was in 10th place and about 7 or 8 points out of a playoff spot if I recall correctly. Buffalo is only 4 (though other teams do have games in hand). I'm not saying they necessarily should go for it, but they will, and it is doable. |

Was just about to say the same and this is all the more reason he should have been gone at the same time. I don't want a 'save my job' trade that hurts us in the long run. |

Hey....our largest trade last year (surprise) - Kassian/Hodgson - overall has worked...especially this season |

Just seems it's like this:
1) Fire Lindy.
2) Bring in a "new" coach and give the guys a chance to turn it around (if not make a playoff spot, just play better and win more than lose).
3a) If this happens, Darcy stays and Rolston gets a chance to coach next year.
3b) If they keep poopting the bed, then it's the team and Darcy is gone as well.
I also have the feeling Darcy has been told this in no uncertain terms. |

And they made the call to choose Rolston over James Patrick to get a completely new voice in the room - Patrick might have been deserving, but his voice probably would have been more of the same |

Don't you think that is arrogant of Darcy and Co. then? They do not have the Crosby or Malkin Pitt did/has |

The sabres are just a horrible organization. THE only two Kevin porters I have heard of played linebacker in nfl and guard in the nba. How is Kevin porter, jochen Hecht, job. Scott,Nathan gerbe, drew stafford all playing and 25 sitting. They are a mess |

Don't we have an assistant GM now? Used to be head of scouting, Goose knows what I'm talking about.... I'm pretty sure he was given that title just for this reason. |

If the sabres can play like they did this past weekend vs Boston and Pens (cept win) consistantly . They might find out that winning is a good feeling . |

Ok, put down what you are smoking right now!
Everyone blames Ruff for our demise, and I understand that!
Why don't we realize that we don't have much talent here( Thanks to Darcy, whom should have been fired a long time ago!).
If you are trying to tell us that we are going to make a run like Pitt did in 2009, you are completely out of your mind! |

All losing teams have games where they are close or play good and come up short, CBJ doesn't get blown out every game. The similarity is they lose in the end |

I think the same fans who compare us to 2009 pens are the same idiots who make decisions insabreland. Ron ruff rolston is playing porter,Hecht,Scott, gerbe and stafford |

Tell me about it!
These people are out of their mind!
I actually feel bad for Lindy!
Darcy never gave him the talent he needed here to win.
And then Lindy had to take the damn bullet for Darcy.
It is a shame! |

Seems to be the only games (this past weekend) that they actually seemed interested in trying to win. |
