What else could be done? Have him step down when he didn't want to go?
- keptupl8

Some respect from ownership for one.It could of waited till the end of the season or it could of been done before season. This teams not going to make the playoffs either way.Was a big terry p fan but the way he handled this leaves much to be desired.I did write earlier this week I thought Lindy would be gone this season but not like this.

No way Regier made this decision unless he was just trying to save his own ass. I think Terry said changes needed to be made.

I have had my Kane Jersey since his rookie year. Was wearing it when they won the cup and when he scored the game winner. I personally wouldn't call myself a hawks fan though. Just a team to cheer for when the sabres aren't playing.
- Smittyx36

I'm a Hawks fan. This is actually my order:

1. Hockey
2. Sabres
3. Blackhawks

My Hawks jersey is also a Kane one. Got it for my birthday his rookie year. It's also signed. And yes, I still wear it.

Easier to change the coach than change out 10 players . Darcy has a hard time changing out 2 players a season.

so, possibly let him fail for the rest of the season?

It had to happen. I can't believe it actually happened. There's never a good time to get fired.

What are you talking about? They as in R&R&P felt this team was good enough to get to the playoffs.

Changes had to be made and I'm glad it happened now and not at the end of the season.

Did you not watch the game last night? It was absolutely brutal. They were becoming the laughing stock of the league. Something had to be done. I think he knew it was coming by the way his press conference sounded last night.

Firing someone is never a good situation. It's tough. There's really no way to "handle it gracefully." It sucks for one side no matter what.

Why have someone take over that was working for a guy who wasn't getting the job done?

I like the move to have Rolston take over. He had a good rapport with young players and really took Foligno up to the next level.

- HonkFortheGoose

Rolston your best pick to replace Lindy ? Really all this for an unknown minor league coach ? Not Impressed

I'm a hockey fan first. If I had to move to a different city that had a team, I would probably add a #4 to that list.

I watch as much hockey as I can. I feel a lot more deeply for the Sabres than I do the Hawks, but I'm still a fan of both.

Very nice. My jerseys not signed... yet lol.

My friends favorite team is the hawks so its easy to jump on the wagon and I do actually like the majority of the team. I'm sure If I lived in Chicago I would be a big fan.

He's an interim coach. They fired him today. Did you think they would have a new coach lined up at the drop of a dime?

The team was largely that way last year.I dont question the move I question the unprofessional way it was handled.

Interim tag. Smart for at least 2 reasons. 1- because Darcy's ass may be on the line too and you leave open the possibility a new GM will have a coaching decision to make at the end of the year (as is customary). 2- you wait till a guy you really want becomes available to take the coaching position only.

I don't think either side was happy. But continuing a sham is more disrespectful IMO.

He's great with developing players. Look no further than what Foligno managed to do developmentally last year. I think he's a good fit for now. I'd like to see what he can do. If he can get this team to gel, then I'd be ok with them looking at him for the actual job. But I expect that they do their due diligence and not just hand it to him at that point either.

are you all in after the lockout or did hockey lose a part of you?
