I agree with the above quote, OEL for Couturier would be a fair trade. Both are cheap and young and have sky high potential. Good trade for both teams as they're both trading from positions of strength to solidify weaknesses.

Sure, if they could land OEL for Couturier straight up, I'd do it. Trouble is, that Phoenix would likely want more than Couturier, which is where it breaks down.

streaky? 10 points in 16 games for an 18 year old despite limited minutes is better than expected returns so far, but the sample is obviously quite small.
- OrangeBlack27

I don't mean streaky in the usually sense. I mean streaky as in there doesn't seem to be a direct correlation between his TOI and production. Should've clarify. Sorry about that.

Welcome...

I said it earlier, and I stick by my guns.. I still think you could add the right pieces to the defense without being forced to move Couturier. May have to package certain players, but I struggle with the idea of moving Couts. OEL is one of a few guys that really make me think about it though.

I agree with you. I also think OEL costs more than Couturier.

My god. Reading this NHL 13 "plan" and female doging about Bryz's contract is burning my eyeballs.

If Couturier was OFF the table for Shea Frickin Weber, that would tell you all you need to know about his availability and what Homer thinks of him.

We needed a goalie. So we finally went out and got one. Solved the goalie carousel. Bryz has been otherwordly this year (see what I did there??) and is playing to the tune and maybe higher to his contract. Maybe we overpayed a tad, but that is what happens in UFA, ESPECIALLY when youre addressing a dire need. The player has all the leverage, not to mention other teams in on it solely to drive the price up. Oh by the way, goalies can play well in their late 30s. It's not uncommon.

Cooter isn't moving. Bryz will not be bought out.

Can you please be quiet now? I'm tired of the broken record.

Last time I heard something like this was when we played Tampa and ended up winning. Before that was the first game against the Rags, also a win. So thanks!

I wanted to ask a question I didn't get a chance to ask last night. Many have their own opinion of who will turn out to be better, Sean Couturier or Brayden Schenn. My question is who do you think is a better player, Micah Richards or Claude Giroux? Right now, send to deal with me and consider the balance of both players.

But Bryzgalov will be old eventually!

- MBFlyerfan

No I said core too young. The will hit prime in a few years. Get younger with them now. Bryz would have been great in 2010. Not 2016 wHen he's 36 declining with huge cap hit. Got news for ya we will be lucky to make playoffs this year and we aren't winning cup so why soo afraid to go young and deal with the growing pains with all the pieces instead of standing pat and growing pains and still needing the pieces in a few years

News flash.. we are not the Oilers of now or the Pens of the early 2000's.

You want to "go young" by trading the 20 year old, Couturier?

That would be a very smart move, he will develop into a very good player. But, if the Flyers stay close to a playoff position and if the Panthers fall off, Holmgren might want to ask about Brian Campbell.

imo, you need a balanced mix of youth/veterens, look at edmonton, loaded with young number 1 picks and nothing really else, i just dont ever see them becoming a nhl force, they have like 5 or 6 of the same guy and they all do the same thing.
