Asham's wearing the Ranger jersey so he gets my approval. I think it was only Alex, maybe one other dude here who literally said he hates Asham, basically cause he wore other jerseys of Rangers rivals. - B2B76
My problem with Asham is his history, he's not to far off from Cooke and I hate having a guy with that reputation on the team, we've had 1 suspension in 4 years, that's a clean team

That cant be right Vin. Prust was suspended for the elbow in the Jersey series last Spring. Although he was barely a Ranger, Deveux was waxed for a hit on soneone in Fla last yr too.
And Asham is nowhere close to Cooke. The hit on Schenn last yr was reckless & he was dealt with appropriately, but other than that aside from fighting majors, dont recall Asham being dirty.

Hagelin got a game last season, and if you want to count off-ice suspensions, Avery got nailed for the sloppy seconds comment.

I'll never like asham. He's not at the level for me of rooting against him in a fight. However my opinion will never waiver, I'm definitely not a fan of his. Only because of his actions after this fight, not the actual fight itself.

I didn't like that either, but sometimes good people do stupid things. Indeed, he seemed to realize that pretty quickly by banging his stick against the boards when Beagle got taken of the ice. I imagine that the adrenaline can run pretty high after an NHL fight, and maybe the player is not thining as they should be.
You won't find many ex-teammates that have a bad opinion of Arron Asham, and I trust that. He's an NHL tough guy for christ's sake. You won't find many that are angels.

And that also was a carry over fight I believe from a previous incident where Beagle started poop w a Pen. So Asham was basically saying with that gesture, it was literally put to bed.

I wonder sometimes how Mark Messier and Gordie Howe would be viewed under today's standards.
On the Habs game, tonight, the Habs are now 10-4-1 and second in the conference. I try not look at the standings too much yet, but the Rangers just need to keep compiling points, because despite a 7-2-1 run in their last 10, they still 8th in the conference.

I don't hate him, just saying I'm not a fan of his. It's whatever, he's here now, hopefully he can help the Rangers.

I think they'll separate themselves from the pack, Ottawa got 2 points from an overrated bunch yesterday but without Karlsson and Cowen their back line is scary thin.
I want to see Prust take some dumb penalties tonight, I am one of a few people holding a grudge, he's a sellout

I understand that when the Rangers were offering 3 years for 6 million bucks, and the Habs were offering 4 years for 10 million why he would take the money. But, he took the money, and he jumped ship, so life moves on without him. He's a Hab now, so I hope Asham kicks his ass.

Prust took the $$$, any of would have too, guy will never have another opportunity to cash in for that kind of dough, like Avery wen he went to Dallas. But like with Avery, once he's gone, he's gone. Again, its all about the laundry. Whoever's wearing Ranger blue gets my applause.
Mashinter confirmed by NYDN Rangers beat writer. Kreider and Bickel are scratched. - tomburton99
I don't think they are handling Kreider well right now. They send him to Hartford to play in three weekend games. Then they call him back-up when there are questions about Nash. Then when Powe gets hurt they call up Mash, and sit Kreider. They are screwing with this kid too much, and I hope its don't killing him psychologically.
That being said, Kreider needs to play better. When a player that has that type of speed, and goes through long stretches of invisibility on the ice, that is a problem. Hagelin should be the model for Kreider. Even when he isn't scoring, he still uses his speed to do other things on the ice. I don't want to see him turn into Erik Christensen -- i.e. a game or two when he shows serious skills, surrounded by too many games when you don't notice him.
He will be lucky to get 3 minutes of ice time...... - Downeaster
He'd be lucky to get that. Other than Prust, the Habs don't have guy willing to drop the gloves. I agree with you that he's is a waste of a roster spot.

This situation is similar to how the Isles handle Niederreiter. They screwed around with his development and the kid has been right since. Torts is doing the same thing with Kreider.
Hopefully they just send him down and let him stay down their. At this point getting away from the bright lights of NYC may be good for him. - tomburton99
Honestly, it's not as if he tore up in Hartford during the lockout. There is something not right about Kreider this year, and hopefully he can recover from what is shaping up to be a subpar first complete season in the pros.

Yea this screams mis-development... I'm getting worried.
