I'm excited to see this kid play. Saw all the tweets about him this weekend and I wondered why he wasn't called up over Krieder... unless hes just an AHL superstar |

He fits the 4th line role better then Kreider, smart move. Don't get why he wasn't called up originally over Kreider |

I guess because if Nash had to miss last night's game, the Rangers would have needed someone to play on the Top 3 lines, rather than the 4th. I hope Powe isn't out long-term. He really made that function, along with Halpern who I think is playing pretty well. |

agreed... Bringing him in seemed to help solidify the PK and I was liking his play... Halpern has been a ton better on the faceoff so he seems to be doing what we brought him in for. |

I dont think trading MDZ is gonna happen. You see how much torts leans on the top two pairings, it just wouldnt make sense considering the system. |

Excited to see if he can bring to the table here what he has done with the Whale. Everybody who watches Hartford has raved about him this season.
Not good about Powe though, he has quitely fit in real well here. Much better than Rupp. |

That's why I think it's Richards... But it won't be him either... I don't really mind MDZ this season so, don't really want him to go but I still want something coming our way. |

That trade would never happen... But lets pretend it did. Would you do it? It would depend on what O'Rielly wanted. Maybe he is asking for a lot cause he wants out? Could ya get him at $3.8? Then you have $3 M extra in play from cap space saving. Interesting but it would never happen. |

[quoteElliotte Friedman said during Hockey Night in Canada (h/t Adrian Dater of the Denver Post) that Colorado asked for Michael Del Zotto and another prospect that could have been either Chris Kreider or J.T. Miller. Dater notes that Colorado is clearly trying to get the best deal possible if it’s going to give up on trying to re-sign him.
As per The Bleacher Report.
If that is the case, they can keep O'Reilly. He isn't THAT good. |

And of course he offers no legitimate rationale other than the Rangers still aren't where they want to be in the standings.
He has Phoenix ahead of the Rangers too. The Coyotes are 3-2-0 in their last five with one of those wins being in OT and another in the SO. Yet Burnside has them jumping 8 slots and ahead of the Rangers.
The Rangers are 4-0-1 in their last five but get dropped four spots. That makes perfect sense. |

There's no way the Rangers would make that trade. If they did make a MDZ for O'Reilly move the trade would have to be expanded or the Rangers would have to be close to another deal to add a top-four D with offensive upside or else it would be an example of robbing Peter to pay Paul. I like O'Reilly but not at the reported cost to trade for him. |

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about what the Mickey Mouse Sports Company says about the NHL. |

I would do it!! Because as a Rangers fan, I should always have somebody that I want gone (Richards is just doing nothing for me at the moment) BUT you are right... I doubt it will happen... I have 'called' a lot of things for the Rangers in the past but I doubt I will call this... I even called Rupp getting moved yeeahuh |

Watching the end of the Devils-Sens game, Clarkson is such a pussy, Neil wanted to fight and Clarkson immediately was looking for a ref, they get away with so much interference, I'd lose my mind and attack a ref if I had to play them. |

Clarkson only fights guys who he knows are at the end of a shift or guys who he knows he likely will beat, like Dubi last yr on both accounts. |

Biggest need now is a 6th dee man who can play more than 5 minutes and an enforcer. Would be nice to get a deeman to help PP but would be too expensive. |

I could see the Rangers looking at guys like Ron Hainsey, Jordan Leopold, and Adrian Aucoin at the deadline. Those guys are in the last year of their respective deals and can chip in some offensively.
Another name is Grant Clitsome. He's posted some decent offensive numbers in the past, is in the last year of his deal and only makes $1.25MM. I saw him when he was with Columbus and there are worse options you could get.
Just some thoughts from an outsider. |
