I try to tell that to people I know in college and they call me a downer. Tell me to stop trying to crush them. I prepared myself for when I got out of college. Most people will hold out waiting for that one job of their dreams instead of taking a job they can hold for a couple years while still looking for that "dream job."

I think this is more to the point. "kids now a days" have been pumped full of positive energy and protected from failure. They have more because their parents worked so hard to "give them everything they didn't have" They have a sense of entitlement and are typically ingorant to what the "real world" offers post college.
Every generation before says teh same thing about the next generation.
Just like the generation before... there is less hardship and more education. My grandfather complained that my dad was lazy because he worked at a control panel in a nuclear power plant.

NUH UH, I WORK HARDER THAN YOU
I was knitting socks in the womb and haven't stopped working since and now I'm a 24 year old billionaire that still gets his hands dirty and is totally down to earth.
Didn't you know?
Oh and obviously my penis is huge and I'm married to a super model.
It's all in what every one wants to admit to.
My generation was not and is not lazy like the tech generation. Sad part is, most seem proud of it. Almost boastful.
I started work in the family store when I was 9 years old and was paid with packs of sports cards and I have not stopped working since.
There was one thing among many that I prided myself on. The very one thing very important to me is knowing that nobody could ever say I did not earn that paycheck at the end of the week.
Some have pride, some dont. - TerryPegs
Did you have to walk to work uphill both ways...in the snow?
I started at a pizzeria at age 15 and worked there 17 yrs.
Worked the summers and winters at one of the border crossings for 2 years.
Was a bill collector for 9 yrs.
Been bartending for 3 yrs.
I'll be 34 in a month.
So 15 out of my 19 yrs working, I've worked 2 jobs. I would love for someone to call me lazy. - dadeadhead
Should have went to college and had a professional career. you woudl have increase your earning potential sooner and had to work less. I won't call you lazy, maybe misguided with your personal resourses.

I hated college.
Have a house that is almost paid off and zero other debt. I've done better than most that went to college.

I didn't assume your succes level, just making a point about your earning potential. Its proven to be higher with a degree, not always, but usually. typically less work, especially in the management field.
