I think two things are making Ennis a bit of a public enemy right now. The first is that last year, he ended the season on a pretty much unsustainable pace, and everyone expected him to match it for 48 more games.
The second is his comment about faceoffs that was blown way out of proportion. It made him sound like he didn't care, which wasn't what he was saying at all. Some faceoffs you just know you aren't going to win, so you need to adjust for the fact that you probably won't win it. It just set off everyone's blue collar alarm and turned out to be much ado about nothing. - buffalofan19
I work in Buffalo.... Don't understand why everyone thinks we are such a blue collar town. Some of the laziest people I have ever seen.

I have to agree with this. A lot of people that work in the department next to mine think that my job is easy and they always apply for it. The few that have gotten to make the transition to ours realize that we work our asses off. We just manage to have fun while we're doing it. We also know how to get it done so that we don't have to work late. It's really not a hard concept.

It's a good learning experience for him. Nicklas Backstrom spent his first year in Washington on the 4th line. - HonkFortheGoose
???????
He lead all centers in ESTOI with 14:41, had PPTOI 4:02, and 0:15 of SHTOI. Only Michael Nylander had more total TOI and that was by only 10 seconds 19:09 to 18:59. He also lead all centers in scoring for Washington with 69 points in 82 games played.
So while he might've spent time on the 4th line here and there, IMO your assessment of his 1st year in Washington isn't exactly true.

It was the 1st 10 games or so. Boudreau wanted him to find his bearings.

8 teams interested in O'Reilly per EK? Darcy will not get into a bidding war with anyone. It's not like we need any upgrades things just take time, but it's coming along.
