Not trying to start a fight here but Ive seen a number of people here blame last season entirely on Reimer (Gionta). - sanfordnson
Hey, remember last season when you said that trade fo JvR would be good for the Leafs? I'll give you mad props for that, especially since you never bring up how right you were. |

From Who??? It certainly didn;t help, but that happened in end of Oct and the LEafs were a playoff team well into January, even into Feb. |

Losing your starting goalie is just as important as losing any one skater, regardless of how good that skater may be. If you lose a defenseman, there should be someone able to step up and at least fill the hole. If you lose your starting goalie, all you have left is your backup and if he's not up to the task it really doesn't matter how good the rest of the team is. - Jeffmt
Depth is depth at any position. One of the Flames hugest problems for years has been no capable backup for Kiprusoff and Kipper is usually gassed by years end. |

Anyone love the scene of Carlyle screaming at Kadri for making his patented stupid pass that leads to an odd man rush...????
I loved it.. Kadri has talent but he makes some bonehead moves... that was a message to the others on the bench.. expect the hair dryer if you make those types of plays. |

What's with Orr's ice time? Good on him for earning some playing time. - weirdoh

That shirt by Mclaren was great. Awesome forcheck, created a turnover, cycled and crashed the net for a goal.
EDIT: Shift. |

My guess is that Carlyle is just trying to show him that he's noticed the effort. Quinn used to do stuff like this and guys generally responded to it. Finally we've got some accountability here. Frattin coasts his way through camp, gets sent down for a few games, then comes back with the attitude that he has to earn his place on the roster. Everything is as it should be. |

No Problem with coach yelling at player like that so long as (a) he's telling them what he did wrong and how to fix it and (b) gives a chances to make up for it and learn from it.

Not to toot my own horn either (if I could I wouldnt be here talking to you people) but I said when it happened that the Schenn/JVR trade would be good for the Leafs. - sanfordnson
I thought getting rid of Schenn was a bonus... JVR with Carlyle impressing upon him the game he should play has picked up huge.. reinforcing the positive play.. to him and others.. it definitely has helped guys like Frattin.. & Kadri..

Well I think that was the case.. he didn't bench him for the rest of the game.. just letting him know clearly what his expectations are...

No I know....RW didnt teach and didn't give guys a chance to redeem himself. I like how RC is handling all of this so far. It's everything we've wanted for the RW years. |
