The whole talk of not waiving, I think, is incorrect...assuming Calgary treads water until mid-March and Buff gets hot. His buddies Leopold and Regehr are there, it'd be in a different conference, and he'd have a chance to play on a line with Vanek and Hodgson. Vanek-Hodgson-Iginla is a scary good top line

Winnipeg needs a #1 center Olli Jokinen has been a major dissapointment he's a shell of his former self.

Not to mention that Buffalo and Calgary have a recent history with each other (trading) and both GM's seem to be comfortable with one another.

As for the 2 roster players...allows them to pawn off Stafford and Enroth for a wash in Irving....the meat of Calgary's return should be Ennis - type player. Wouldn't cripple Buff, and their top line would be shored up and feared in a playoff run.

Plus, if Iggy went and then got them to at least the Cup final, he'd be a much bigger legend than if he did it in a 'proven winner' market like Pitt or Phillu.

why would the jets trade their potential franchise forward for a much older injury prone forward? kane could get a heck of a lot more on the open market.

still not close. jets dont need D, they have byfuglien enstrom bogosian, with redmond, trouba, postma developing.

kane will go to the west if he gets traded, he's not coming to the leafs.
