Immortality!
PA Parenteau once tried to wear glasses. The result was him seeing around the world to the point where he was looking at the back of his own head |

We don't want players that score and produce. We want ones that are forever chasing their "potential" around here. - UIF
lets not get so bent out of shape over an idea pitched on a hockey blog to maybe trade a productive player, especially without knowing which hypothetical player is coming back.
to that point, grabner IS productive and a valuable asset to the team BUT the team has too many forwards who will be ready to play with the team next season...therefore, whether its agreed or not, players, both productive and nonproductive, need to be traded. |

I agree we need to dump these guys doingnothing. I understand we will not get much for them at all but at the same time we need to start something here - kasperrko
You don't trade players that are producing unless you're getting a better return or you are filling a need. Trading Grabner would be bordering on retarded right now. The guy is one of our if not best PK'ers. There are other players that should be dumped/traded before him. |

Trading Grabner would be borderline retarded...unless it was a good trade. I think it's kind of hard to slam a hypothetical trade with no proposed return. |

Yea I know. That line made perfect sense but then you went on to say that trading him would be retarded. |

Nielsen makes a nice pass to Bailey. Bailey with a one-touch drop pass to Okposo in the slot and Okposo...misses the net. That sums up his night for me. A minus and zeroes across the board. If that's what we get on a night where half the folks here are raving about him, then I think we can do with scratching him or at least taking him out of the top-six for a few games.
Edit -- let's not forget the amazing avoid-everyone-and-skate-to-the-corner backcheck on Gaborik's goal that drove Isles-Since-6 through the roof in the first. - UIF
I wanted him gone (more) last night after that play. Lazy ass crap. If he comes back and puts a stick down then maybe the two great saves Nabby made actually mean something, instead of skating off like a lazy (frank)er into the corner and away from the play. |

I agree a lot more players who should be traded or dumped. Like I said we migh tnot get the best for them but at this time who cares. It is either we trade for crappy guys or when the free agents hit the market we sign them so makes no difference |

my bad...im used to having go to extremes to get my point across.
point is, if giving up a productive player like grabner who has real talent would fetch us a real defensemen, id be up for it, bc of the depth (and likelihood a few will stick) in the prospect pool. |

I think Grabner's speed could be even more lethal if he had consistent and productive line mates. I'd be very hesitant to deal Grabner unless the return was really impressive. He's a unique talent in the league and no one gets as many chances. He's still quite young and if he works on his finish then we could end up with an offensive explosion from him.

I agree...it's not that I think Grabner's untouchable, but he has a pretty rare skill with that speed. There are a lot of plays you can plan around that, it throws off power plays...and he's pretty good at getting his stick in lanes and creating his own chances. It'd have to be a good deal to part with him, imo. |

I'll never forget Milbury after draft day saying "Mad Mike has done it again". Flippin' idiot. The guy could draft ok but he had NO patience what-so-ever. - keaner17
The problem was that idiot thought the nickname Mad Mike was a complement. |
