not much of a story considering both carter and hartnell denied carter ever stuck it to his wife.

He's not going to be an elite scorer playing in a league with 20+ year olds. Especially when he was coming out of the USHL. That's a huge jump for anyone to make. He'll be fine. They're going to do develop him right. Besides, his intangibles are part of what make him such an intriguing prospect.

45goals in 100games over two seasons is hardly anything to write home about
He does have skill, and he is young so he does have plenty of time to develop...
My point is that IF he does turn into a good scorer for us,
We're prob waiting about 5yrs for that to happen

If trading him can get us a guy like O'Reilly,
Or better yet, a GOOD defenseman...

They save zero by cutting him. IMO common sense would dictate not cutting him. Cuts are made to save cap space.

Scott is a little long in the tooth, but if we drafted an Ogletree or Minter in the first round I wouldn't mind having him for a season as a mentor.

O'Reilly scored 55 points last year. Based on what I've read about Girgensons, he should be able to produce like that at the NHL level. He has all the same intangibles, and he's bigger. His leadership has been compared to Messier and Toews.

I'll pass on trading him for O'Reilly.
