Couldn't they just go on a mini winning streak 4 and 1 a little later and be right back in it?

Your optimism is intriguing, and perfectly cooked, but it needs more pessimism.

You have to understand, as a Leafs fan, it's quite easy to be optimistic about 14 other Eastern Conference teams' chances of making the playoffs.

Washington has too much fire power to continue sucking.

I really like the young guns the Islanders have assembled.

Hey, the Panthers did it last year...

Suppose Luke Schenn becomes the next Adam Foote. JvR could be a LeClair type player. But an Adam Foote is every bit as vital to winning as a John LeClair.
- Jsaquella

More vital in my opinion.

We obviously failed our saving throw last night. Never seen so many 1's in my life!

Some nights, the dice go cold. I found throwing them in the freezer often solves this problem. When it doesn't, I get different dice. It's like being a General Manager of dice.

One hot streak and JVR is the next Leclair?.....He did poop in philly except in that boston series.....
- Philly1980

What was JvR suppose to do here? What was he suppose to achieve? The 90s was a different era. In my opinion goals are much harder to come by today. LeClair had help, his name was Eric Lindros. Again, I laid out the question. What was JvR suppose to achieve here? How can anyone think he was what he was here? The sealing of JvR is high. Much higher then Luke Schenn is gonna be. I compare Luke Schenn to Adam Foote if he is lucky and even then, Foote was the beneficiary of playing with hall of game players ( not to say he wasn't good). If John LeClair is a bad comparison, JvR is still more talented today and long term then Hartnell.

James van Riemsdyk wasn't bad last season, he was side tracked by injury. Twenty goals in his second season is always a good sign, especially as a secondary scorer.

I have a friend who swears that throwing his dice under my couch or even better under my stove to sit in the hidden dog hair there is THE best way to reset his dice. (Discovered after throwing them across the house in frustration).
I also used to have a friend who would put them in his mouth for long periods when they didn't roll well. (Thankfully not the same person.) And we wonder why gamers have such a bad rep?

The freezer is a fascinating idea.

You should trade them for some dice from across the river in South Jersey.

Agreed. Every team has potential, it's just predicting where the spark will come from, how much confidence can be generated from it, and how far a team can ride it. On the flip side, the Flyers seem to be searching for that spark and bumbling around while they do so.

this is where we were at after TDL last yr. keeping in mind that bryz is much better this yr, how do we compare? where do we go from here? i say we stand pat and let things play out with our young core. im ok with cosmetic moves that dont squander young assets, but that's it.

Ahh, Bobby Ryan. Got it.

Still, now it's a Game Misconduct for arguing (sensitive refs this season) and I'm thinking about a penalty shot just for fun.

I would be shocked if there is anyone on this website that still doesn't know where Bobby Ryan is from.

He doesn't really play for Anaheim. The Flyers are just loaning him to them. Until the time is right for him to come home!

Or that the Flyers are just a little interested in him...

I saw Jersey in your post, went right to the Devils and how they seem to be building on their success from last season. And a rested Brodeur in a shortened season is a little scary.

Friday will be interesting.
