might be better/cheaper than an O'reilly trade that people want to see. - FIREonICE
I wouldn't hate it
But if we are going to bring in another center, it's gotta be a big enough upgrade to push Ennis to the wing
I'd love to upgrade Stafford though,
I think everyone would
It's probably time to admit that Stafford will likely never reach what we all thought his "potential" was...
I think we continue to want him to become more than he has the talent/desire to be
Living up to their potential...
Vanek, Pominville, Miller, Hodgson, Ennis, Foligno, Ott, Kaleta, Ehrhoff, Weber, Sekera
Falling short...
Stafford, Myers
Have no real potential to begin with...
Everyone else
Do u think any of our defensemen would be in the top4 of a good team?
Besides Myers & Ehrhoff... I do not - jdfitz77
I think myers would be a healthy scratch on some good teams

Gerbe had a 17 goal season, he has no potential? Ehrhoff is living up to his potential? 2 14 goal seasons to this? Miller 28th in GAA, that is his potential? Robin Regehr? Leopold has been a top 4 guy his whole career now he is our worst defenseman
I want to see him get effective ice time, not just log minutes. For the most part he's been out there with slugs and grinders. Maybe if there is a top 6 injury he will get to play more with guys with some offensive skill. Or maybe if Stafford stays in the dog house, Grigorenko can play with Ennis and Foligno. Gerbe didn't do much for me on that line.
I think he will get more minutes as the season wears on. At least I hope so. Until then I'd rather see him get limited minutes than play half a game back in the Q. - keptupl8
I agree with all of the above
As long as the "limited minutes" are more like 12-15min a game and not 6-8min...
And get the kid on the freaking PP... Please!

Hecht plays the PK, Vanek doesn't. When you have to kill off 3 straight PPs at the beginning of a period, you're automatically taking Vanek off the ice for at least 6 minutes and putting guys like Hecht and Kaleta out there more. - HonkFortheGoose
damn it I wish you guys would stick to one or the other
does myers suck, or is it the coaching
a lot of those mistakes he has made, is not coach IMO, it's a lack of focus

What about all the rest of the defense? Do they all have ADD and cannot focus? Is it coincidence that the youngest one makes the most mistakes, or is it a system failure? It's not a lack of talent that he piches at the wrong time
did he all of a sudden get stupid? I think his message is stale and not getting through, but I think the group of players he has to work with has a lot to do with it.

its not lack of talent, its lack of a hockey IQ. That's his fault.

Sorry sir, but I couldn't disagree more...
Vanek and Pominville are off to amazing starts, and have had very successful careers...
Drury & Briere had their best seasons under Ruff...
How is that possible if all Lindy does is "ruin players"
I can go on & on with examples
Also, this notion that Ruff can't develop young guys...
Hodgson looks good to me, and after a couple tough games to start the season Ennis appears to be back on track to the promising start his career has gotten off too...
Do I like that Hecht is getting all this icetime?
Hell no
Should Grigorenko be getting MUCH more?
IMO, yes... But it appears Lindy feels its best to "protect him" and bring him along slowly...
At any rate... I'm OK with the "fire Ruff" chants...
But saying he ruins or can't develop players is simply untrue - jdfitz77
Briere...former 1st Round pick who scored 32 the year before he came here.
Drury...overtime hero who had a ring.
Those two made each other millions. Ruff didn't make them better. Credit aside from the actual players should go to Regier for making those deals. Lindy Ruff had very little to do with 23 and 48 becoming stars.

But where did it go? I don't buy that Tallinder made him look that good. He played really, really well his rookie year and at times since. He's not playing anywhere near the level we've seen in the past.
