Agreed. They all were great skaters and had talent, but Connolly had the most skill by far - sbroads24
Agreed but max ended up putting up the most goals .
Russian speedster is 50/50 to make it . I would take the chance over Timmy. |

Actually, after the lockout, I won't be going to nhl.com for a few decades, or at least until Bettman privatizes himself.
Anyway, that -7 makes my point. In a short season, Myers has to be +7 in 10 games. - BaltimoreSabresFan
Fine.
www.hockeydb.com has player stats as well. |

We still need Centers...and they are at more of a premium the D men, which we still have a lot of in the pipeline |

Serious question. If you were to draft one of these former Sabres and you had nothing to base you're choice on besides talent, which would you draft
Tim Connolly
Max Afinogenov
Brian Campbell - sbroads24
Depends on what I needed. |

Jones is a franchise defenseman. One that plays well with another Dman that we already have. |

Yep, just wasn't room for him. He would have been waived when Niskanen comes off IR. Glad he will get a chance to play in the NHL elsewhere. |

What are the collective thoughts on signing Jason Arnott to provide some leadership and to win a face-off 50% of the time?
Get rid of Darcy and Ruff now.
Depending on perfoirmance through April, the team can decide then to dump: Stafford (he'll score thirty consistently with a new team, such as MN) along with Kaleta, Miller, Regher (spel?), Ennis, Luke Adam, Corey Tropp, Ruff and Darcy.
Keep Pommer, Vanek, Hodgson, Foligno, Ellis (why not), Weber, Ott, Grigorenko, Brennan, Sulzer and get a new coach and a top 6 C and some roll players.
Who am I missing on both the dump and keep lists? Obviously we will need a Goalie as well... |

He did not pass a physical with the rangers what makes you think he will with the sabres. Don't want him anyway.

Lovejoy is just a bottom pairing guy so he will have to fight for a roster spot in most situations. I just know that it wasn't ever going to happen in Pittsburh now with Despres making the jump as well as Bortuzzo. |

That's just it. I don't want to "make it out alive." I want this team to be a contender, and they're not even close. Coaching change or not. - HonkFortheGoose
yeah but at the same time we sign brad richards instead of ville leino, and/or bring in parise and sutter last fall and this team looks a heck of a lot different.
i think they realize they have holes on the team and are trying to draft to fill them, but i also wonder if we have the pieces to trade to get anyone good without creating more holes.
i think we're more likely to see them get a big fish in free agency then we are to see a monster trade happen but if we can't sign a whale i think eventually they might make a trade that makes every shout exclamation points out of their heads.
if pegula thinks he can throw his money around and it will solve problems, i honestly think free agency signings are where he thinks he can inflict the most damage. the problem is that his new money attitude can only take him so far and there have been teams trying to do what he is trying to do for many years.
i think we're still in a transition year and i think when mcnabb is ready it will help flesh out of defense a lot better, but i would not trade vanek and pominville in the meantime because they're our best forwards and unless we're doing some type of pominville for stastny, it doesn't make much sense to jetison these guys because we still need vets while the youth is developing. we can trim a lot of fat from this team before we have to trade away our best players (examples: regehr, leopold, leino, secondary examples: stafford) |

Grigorenko needs to play with talented players, not Hecht. Not Kaleta. Not Gerbe. Not Ott.
Also, I cant help but think that every time he gets the puck and slaps it around that the coaches arent in his ear. Theres no reason why he doesnt skate up ice and create time and space. Hes playing too timid, and you can tell its all on the coaches. Kids afraid to make a mistake so much hes not playing his brand of hockey.
Whos Conacher playing with? Whos Tarasenko playing with? Whos Yakupov playing with? Hell, I'll even throw Kassian in here.
All playing with top 6 talent. Thats why they are producing. - theblueandgold
problem is there is no one for him to play with....youre not breaking up 26 19 and 29 so that leaves who for him to play with.
