Clarkson and Elias are a match made in heaven. I hope I don't see him walk at the end of the season.

Good win. Having Elias play with Clarkson seems to be working really good so far this season. Just need to get that top line going. Zajac and Kovalchuk have been invisible for most of this season since the first couple of games. I think we need to try to get a LW to play on the top line and move Zubrus down to play with Josefson and Butler if he stays. Speaking of Butler, he has been solid in his limited ice time so far. I would like to see these guys become the 3rd line eventually. Still give CGB 9-10 minutes of ice time during the regular season, great line.

yeah i have liked what i have seen from butler, he made a nice defensive play coming back, he helped out defensively, and made a very nice pass to josefson, he is also creating offense when its there

the "3rd" line seems to be our shut down line and is creating energy, they have also chipped in their fair share too

Raymond maybe? Do the Canucks need help on D? Could be an interesting swap of Tallinder(+?) for Raymond

Accurate. An intangible 2nd liner that adds character, grit, energy, and now goal-scoring and point getting. He's going to fetch 5M/y and he's earning it. Mind you, his stats are getting bolstered by Elias... but no one disputes how good Elias is. Look at B.Gionta and Gomez since they stopped playing with him. Arnott and Sykora since they stopped playing with him. This hen lays our golden eggs.

I think after watching Butler play yesterday, we found a new number nine for the first line. He had like a handful of shifts and created three times more scoring chances than Zajac and Kovalchuk combined. It's too bad JJ can't score, yet.

Kovy should be fined every time he tries to pass the puck.

Kovy looked especially bad defensively last night, but the fact remains is that every time he's on the ice he's a threat and demands checking line coverage. This has freed up the Elias-Clarkson line, becoming an impact line early on in the season. You can't expect Clarkson to channel his inner Andreychuk forever, but right now he might be the top garbage man in the league.

The question remains, is Zidlicky really good or really bad? I still can't tell. But its one of the extremes.

Just a great win last night. Helps me almost forget the public undressing the Pens exacted on the Devils over the weekend.

Zid to me is bad, very bad.

We have our chances at revenge this coming weekend with the Pens. Next 3 games can really swing the division in or out of our favor for sure. Here's hoping we come out like we did last night, minus the penalties that is!

What is so bad about him? Sure he isn't as good defensively as Salvador, Volchenkov, Fayne, and Greene, but he also brings a different skill set. He is our best offensive D man. I've been fine with his play this year.
