Are you a gentle soul or are you just against hired goons

no i like prust, Prust could actually skate and chip in on the offensive side of the puck. Rupp was useless outside of the WC.

As someone who dislikes the Rangers, I'm really happy about the Rupp trade. I hated playing against him just like Prust. They could fight, but they were also solid hockey players who brought multiple dimensions to the table. Looking at their bottom six now, it just looks a lot thinner. To me, they just made themselves even more top heavy without middle-of-the-lineup forwards like Duby, Anisimov, Prust, and Rupper gone.

I would've done the Nash trade any day if I were the Rangers, but its also a risky move if someone on the top line gets injured.

I noticed how top heavy they are as well but it can look alot different if you break up the top line all three are stars and don't necessarily need to rely on other for them to score I mean I am sure they would prefer to have guys to make the load easier but they can spread the talent around and still be effective just put the big line back together for the pp

Yea I can see that too. Its going to be an interesting offseason if they don't win the cup this year because McDonough, Stepan, and Hagelin are all in for paydays and the Rangers are already pretty close to the cap with none of their big contracts expiring. COME ON LEAGUE JUST HOLD THEM OFF FOR ONE YEAR

If their top line scores every other time they're out then the other lines shouldn't be a problem. Heck at least they have a top line! When healthy, this is a really good team. The perfect team for the devils to beat in 6, again.

This coming summer actually shouldn't be too big of a problem for the Rangers, as they will have about $11 million total to sign Hagelin, McDonagh, Stepan, and a depth forward and a depth defensemen. It will be tight, but I don't imagine them having a real problem slotting the main three guys in next year. The summer of 2014 will be a challenge, however, as basically the entire team becomes UFAs.

Just checked capgeek and somehow that math is right? I'm confused because the only contracts coming off the books are small ones that need to be replaced, and the cap is even reduced next year to boot. There must be something different about how salaries add up under the new CBA? I dont know, I dont feel like adding those up

Edit: Waaaait a minute, forgot about Wade Redden. All makes sense again
