Would u really miss Scott or Ellis if they got claimed?
I wouldn't
Don't hate either player, but neither is a guy I want on the ice in the playoffs, so if we lose them now....
O well, we'll survive - jdfitz77
It's a numbers game. If you're taking players from Rochester, at some point you have to be putting players there as well. |

I bet you see Kassian's numbers fall off more than Cody's though. Cody has all the talent he should have to be playing on the top line. I don't think Kassian is quite a top line guy. Maybe a 2nd liner, but 1st line is a bit of a reach IMO. - HonkFortheGoose
I think he fits in rather perfectly with that top line over there though. Any other team he is 2nd line material though. |

Who was with the Sedins a few years back and had like a 70 point season and then traded or left via UFA and hasn't even topped like 45 points since???
you get put on a line with those guys and you instantly look better...
I think that Neal in Pitt gets this same treatment being on a line with Crosby and Malkin at points in every game. Neal is a great talent don't get me wrong. |

Adam needs to stay in Rochester. He's probably one of the laziest players I've ever seen. - HonkFortheGoose
Like bends down to tie his skates in the middle of a shift kind of lazy? |

once the score was 5-0 on Saturday
the Vanek line should have only played 2 shifts the third period, work with the lines that are not clicking, since we have back to back games
I know common sense means nothing but damn Ruff has done a crap job this season - homiedclown
I said this while at the game yesterday as well when I noticed Vanek on the ice PKing at the end of the game when there still was going to be 40 seconds on the clock after we killed the penalty off.
By the time Vanek got off the ice there was only 50 seconds left in the game and there was no way he was going to have anything left in the tank for the chance of tieing the game in the final even strength pull the goalie 40 seconds.
Coaching decisions like those irk me. |

Did Andrew Peter play in the playoffs? I'm pretty sure Ellis has been dressed for playoff games - sbroads24

ellis 4 games for the sabres, 1 goal

Personally, I have no problem with Gerbe. I just wish he could find his game again. Hard to do that playing with John Scott though. That back injury really (frank)ed him up and it's going to take a while to overcome that.
I wouldn't be upset if they got claimed, but you can't afford to have all your players being claimed either. If you're taking players from the farm, you have to be putting other players there. It's a numbers game at this point. - HonkFortheGoose
yeah i didn't think about that aspect of it.. good point. |

Nope. I'm just gonna stand here and look like a pylon lazy. If his skate was untied, he's probably lazy enough that he couldn't be bothered to lean over and tie it. |

they didnt really need him. kassian fits them so much better.
although kassian would still be great on buffalo. - robz228
They just weren't using him right
And I'm not sold on Kassian at all... I know he's producing, but hell... Who wouldn't playing w the Sedins?
Ask Taylor Pyatt, he scored 23g w the twins
Kassian gets bumped from that line and he could easily become "Pyatt" |

That's my point, it's one thing to have depth in the form of tough guys like Peters who won't sniff the playoffs, it's another to have a useless player as your 4th line center in the playoffs. Look at the teams that make it far, they all roll 4 lines of NHL players, not Matt Ellis's. |

Any goalie prospects worth taking a look at or projected to go first round this year ?I dont belive Miller will get any better then he is right now and thats certainly an area of concern going into his next contract.Baring a miracle Id think we all agree this teams going to be at the bottom of standings come the end of the season. |

I think Kassian is the real deal. You gotta give to get! We got CoHo and they got Kassian. I see both guys being top 6 forwards for the majority of there career. I really liked Kassian but I also really like Cody before he was even a Sabre.
Both teams got what they wanted

Flynn is technically a center, though I believe he's mostly been on wing this year in Rochester.
Varone and Porter I know are centers.
Adam has mostly been on wing. Same with Girgensons. |

True,
But if need be I think we can find some borderline 4th liners / AHLers to fill out the roster down there |

Both Tylers have been an issure for me this season. The poor effort from Ennis on his backcheck that allowed Parros to score made me angry. But did Ennis really say that to Hamilton? That is almost Steve Johnsonesque. - TerryPegs
Paul Hamilton said it on the air between the second and third periods yesterday. |

Fucale with Halifax is top so far. but any goalie taken will be 3 years down the road |
