so here is a question, what do you do with bozak and macarthur? clearly steckel and orr wont be back next year, i hope, and since bozak is clearly not a first line center, he doesnt really fit in as naz and grabo make a good 2nd and 3rd with jay playing 4th. - truth.serum
Trade them both at the deadline to the highest bidder. Liles too. |

moot point.
mac will be fine by tomorrow so mcclement will drop back down to the fourth and steckel will be pushed to the wing. - Dozzer

i dont know what the hell you guys are gonna do once the leafs become a competitive team
prolly just find ways to complain about how they won
i fully expect lines like: "fail on the leafs, they only won 4-1, should of been 6-1 but they missed those two chances"
i cant imagine what its like to live with an anchor of negativity like that. i mean if its so bad.. why do you even continue to cheer and watch? its as if you are some sort of twisted sports fan massochist

Interesting.
What gives you this idea? - As_I_See_It
"We’ve had conversations with him through the course of the summer, and he’s indicated to us that he’d like us to enlighten him in a few of the areas [for improvement] so we enlightened him,” Carlyle said of Connolly. “We told him what our expectations are. We try to be as transparent as possible as we can with our players.
“There’s some conversations that you have with your coaches that remain private. Because I think it that is almost like your doctor and patient confidentiality. There’s some things that happen in the room that you don’t bring outside of the room. Those personal conversations with players are things that are private. If he wanted to tell you, it would be up to him to disclose that to you. I don’t think it’s appropriate.”

I'd almost rather give Zigomanis a shot at the 4C before Steckel.
If Steckel isn't winning draws he's (frank)in' useless.
At least with Zigo you know that he'll bust his nuts knowing that this is probably his last shot. The guy is a face off machine and decent on the PK. Also brings a little leadership. - As_I_See_It
thats precisely why he is on the marlies.. thats what he was signed for.
i dont even think he has an NHL contract |

This is what I would like to see happen going forward.
Move Phaneuf back to the right side where he belongs. He can't play the left side, he is not comfortable. That experiment was tried last year with the same results. pair him back up with Gunner, so he can to the right side.
Secondly, take him off the first unit PP. Yes he has a big shot, but its useless cause most of the time its high and wide of the net. Franson has a better point shot.
Franson and Gardiner when he's back play the first unit PP.
Defense pairings......
Phaneuf with Gunner
Gardiner with Komi
Franson with Fraser/Kotska |

I'm down with that. Would also like to see Kadri/Frattin playing a lot more together (2nd line) and move Grabo's line to #3

The Leafs biggest problem is that they can't rise to the compete level of their opponent. When a team turns it on (NYI, NYR) they got no push back. They have no leaders who elevate their game.. Sometimes you see Grabo or Mac do it but that's about it. |

Frattin played well,, but you can't assume that he will do that every game.. I hope he does though. |

Hmmmm... Sounds a little thin, but I kinda see where you're coming from.
Connolly is done. He was never more than stop-gap to buy a little time, however expensive. |
