In your opinion.

If he signed for 2 years I have to assume it was for significant dollars.

Top dmen with that speed and talent should bring back a massive return no?
- Flyersgod

Absolutely. Should a team overpay so massively that trading for said defenseman turns out to be robbing Peter to pay Paul? No.

Subban is a talented young defenseman. But he's not Weber or Chara, and that's likely what Montreal was asking-if, indeed they even entertained offers in the first place.

It's real possible teams called up and were told, don't bother, we're not trading him.

The reports leaking out say that he ended up with a Del Zotto type deal.

Contract details for PK Subban deal: 2million in year 1 & 3.75 in year 2.

Jesus, Bergevin bent PK over a trash can...this will be interesting to watch. Wonder if PK remembers the tough negotiations when this deal is up

That surprises me. Why would Subban agree to those terms? Makes the holdout look silly now. If that was the number that could have been agreed upon long ago.

That'll shock me if he signed for that. What was the reason for the holdout if that's the case? If this is the term can you imagine how low the "insulting" offer was?

Zero idea. Holding out for that seems like a really dumb idea.
