Lets see, Ruff ruins players but Briere, Drury, Dumont, Campbell, undoubtedly Roy, Connolly among others had their career years under Ruff. They made their careers and bank accounts with Ruff as their coach.
Now Darcy? He only drafted Roy and Campbell out of that group and Roy was the prototypical Darcy pick. Small, soft and somewhat skilled. Pretty much ditto that with Campbell. A small, skilled and soft D-man.
I have said this before but when Rick Dudley was relieved of his GM duties in Winnipeg, I was hoping Pegula would fire Regier and hire him as our GM. He built cup winners in Chicago and TB. He could make the call on the coach. Never happened because Toronto hired him. - mhp
Dale Tallon built the hawks. Dudley dosent really impress me. He was the gm of the thrashers after all.

Campbell had his best year last year under Dineen.

I love when people make the argument that Lindy made players like Hasek, Drury, and Briere.
Let's see, Hasek is a top 5 all-time goalie. Drury had a ring. And the year before we traded for Briere he had 32 goals. I think those guys might have been successful without ever playing for Lindy Ruff.

He said career year. That's usually determined by the players high in points. The other argument I could make is that he won a Stanley Cup after he left.

I love how people say Ruff ruins players when they have their career years under him. Drury might have had a wring but he wasn't the star with Colorado he was with the Sabres and Ruff. Neither Briere or Drury would have gotten 7 million $ a year contract offers before they were coached by Ruff, but they sure as Hell did after.
I forgot to mention Afinagenov having his career year under Ruff, now out of the league.

The Ducks called up Emerson Etem i've seen it all now. - SABRES 89
Isn't he supposed to be a decent prospect though? I know he was on the US WJC team when they were held here in Buffalo. He dissed the city, so personally I'd love to see him just fall flat on his face, but I thought he was up pretty high on their depth chart as far as prospects go.
