So who is everyone's #1 player on their wish list for the Sabres to target in FA or trade. Mine is to trade for Corey Perry at the deadline and get him signed.

good question. It would be easy to say Perry or Getzlaf. My wish list would include Murray, Clowe and Filppula.

Does it have to be realistic?
If not,
Brent Seabrook
IMO, this team's biggest NEED is a top pair defenseman to play with Ehrhoff
That would take some pressure off Myers I think, and I'd like to see McNabb up here paired w him
If so,
I like the idea of Corey Perry, but not trading for him... I think it'll cost a ton to get him and then he could walk...
There looks to be a lot of top end free agent talent this year,
I'd focus more on free agency so we don't have to give up assets
Not Getzlaf though, I think he's ridiculously overrated

Iginla would be great
Guy can still score, and even though he's a winger, he's also great at faceoffs!
A leader like him is what this team could use desperately

I like Murray's game...
Is he still going strong though?
I know he's in his 30s now, Id be worried that he's due a drop off like we've seen with Rivet and Regehr
But that's def the Type defensman we need IMO

If some of the top end talent don't re-sign with their respective clubs, It will be a great ufa crop hitting the streets.

The Sharks are my second fave team so I'm a bit biased with my selections. He is still a steady force back on the D there and is 32. He won't be expensive.

If we're being unrealistic, Jonathan Toews. He's a game changer, and we don't have one of those. He's also a bonafide #1 center.

I'm not really sure who else I'd like. I like the idea of Perry. But if we're going to go with a youth movement where we're rebuilding, I would kind of like to get my hands on a guy like Couturier. I think he's gonna be a stud.

How about a guy like David Clarkson? Another Ott type player. I really think we are going to be set at defensmen, I think Darcy has a lot of faith in Mcnabb and Pysyk.

How about this.
Stafford for Neidereiter straight up
Sign Clarkson, Ryan O'Byrne and Matt Hendricks for Depth. Buy out Leino

Lines
Van/Coho/Pommer
Clarkson/Ennis/Ott
Foligno/Grigo/Nino
Kaleta/Hendricks/Tropp

Myers/Mcnabb
Sulzer/Ehrhoff
Sekera/O'Byrne/ Weber/Brennan

Tough young lineup

That'd be a dream come true, Perry is my favorite of the big 3 in Anaheim.

That's all true
Perry isn't too old though, is he?
If we were to sign him to a 7 year deal I think i'd be good with that
Especially since it would then give us an opportunity to trade Stafford + for that stud defensman I think we need
If Armia isn't ready by next year, Tropp can play a year on the 3rd line

I have said this before and people don't agree with me, If Ana is not very good this year, 1 of the 3 will get moved at the deadline. They need to do something and they don't have many assets other than them

I'm sure there will be teams offering him 5 year deals though, and I don't wanna go that far... Is there a 27yr old version of him out there somewhere?

Still think our defense needs improving there
And I'm also high on McNabb, I think he'll be better than Myers...
Pysyk I'm not so sure of, but he's on track to be at least ok

Agreed, the guy does it all can score 50 goals and will fight too. He's an awesome hockey player. I think the ducks will get Perry and Getzlaf signed but I think they'll have to deal Bobby Ryan.

I like Murray but it would just be a slight upgrade over Regehr and maybe cost almost the same.

Stafford and a 2nd for Darelle Revis??? Can we do that?

It's hard to say what Murray will do but the Ducks have plenty of cap space to re-sign both Perry and Getzlaf.
