Looks pretty good... I dont count on filppula to be our legit 1C.. just another Roy... Gringo with no offensive skill round him concerns me . I like matt read though.. even though I trust Lindy to ruin him at the same time.

Macarthur has been good. Paille has a cup and gets a regular shift which Ruff couldn't find for him. Brian Campbell has had his best year not in Buffalo.

All three were what they were for Buffalo. MacArthur is probably the best example there is - and he just got better ice time on a worse team. Paille was shipped out of here when he was still quite young and took the role he was going to have here.

I'm not saying all of this 'cause I love Lindy Ruff so much, just can't really think of an example where someone was secretly a superstar and we had no idea until they got out from under him.

Afinogenov had one good year being carried by Kovalchuk, by the way. He's no longer in the NHL.

From what little I've seen of him, I think he fits the same role for sure. Paille likely has better top-end speed, but Tropp is also a center. And yeah, both can be physical but I didn't see much of a mean streak out of Danny. I think we've all seen what Tropp turns into when he's pissed.

I doubt the Isles would trade Grabner for that. And he's off to a good start for them. I would like Hjalmarsson, would be a good pick up. Something tells me they will buy out McCormick this summer.

He will be a ufa but I would think the Devils will re-sign him.
