you cant really tell with the caps who their "starter" really is, both goalies are young and good, inconsistent where they can either win the game for their team or hurt their team

neu has played well the last 2 games, very well vs the devils

dont put too much stock in the backup role

Macarthur has been good. Paille has a cup and gets a regular shift which Ruff couldn't find for him. Brian Campbell has had his best year not in Buffalo.

Macarthur has had a couple solid years. Paille does have the cup, but didn't Satan win a cup too after he left. I wouldn't say they have flourished as a player just because they were on a good team that won. Campbell we were going to lose via free agency if they didn't trade him, and his stats are very similar to when he played under Ruff.

That being said, I really don't like how he has handled Grigorenko so far. Either play him a regular shift or just send him back....don't jerk the kid around and sit him for half the game.
