Think this has been pointed out here before but as a team they are doing more dumping and hammering the opposing D on the forecheck. From what I've seen they have been doing this consistently and picking their spots to carry the puck in. As a result opposing Dmen haven't been as successful standing the Hawks up at the line and the forwards have been able to generate some sustained pressure. - HawkintheD
It also help that the league is calling interferance when the defensemen are trying to hold the players up. This i think is significant since the hawks are not the biggest team and it prevents the opposition from negating their speed advantage |

Definitely think he should have the green light to be more aggressive, especially with Ivan Drago Rozsival to be his stay at home wingman. Plus, Leddy's speed allows him to recover better than most d-men in today's game. - philco28
Leddy is getting more PP which is a big deal....Not a bad passer and has quick release and an accurate shot.
Still a very young player, especially so being a dman.

Yeah, Philco mentioned something similar and agree with you both; love the new rule and hope it continues to be enforced.

Yes- I tweated a few days ago that's the penalty of the month...Interference
Question as always with the NHL...Will they consistently call the game the same way??? |

Hossa has a great burst and twitch speed I agree, but the the longer the race goes the more Leddy would be in front.
That said, when God made a hockey player he had Marian Hossa in mind. - Al

The Wings may be starting to play a bit better and they have Bertuzzi back. Even when those 2 were there thought we matched up pretty well the last few years. Totally agree though. They've always had a dangerous PP and it's definitely less effective without the Strom's. Enjoy your retirement; I know I will! - HawkintheD

I'm right with you Al.
And if we were to include some E/W in addition to N/S, Leddy wins hands-down.
Haven't seen acceleration like that since the days of Bobby Orr. When Nick was a few strides past our blue line, approaching center ice, it's like the afterburners kicked in and he was gone. Never saw Campbell move like that. Or anyone else with the puck for a long, long time. - savvyone-1
For sure laterally Leddy is probably the best skater on the team. In a straight line I really think it might be Stals though. Guy had beat more defensemen wide last year than I have ever seen. Scoring however is another issue for him |

Best acceleration? From dead stop to top speed: #81. Terrific hockey player, great athlete. - John Jaeckel
Dead stop to top speed, I'd put my money On Keith. And regardless of who's right or wrong isn't it a great thing when so many Blackhawk players have exceptional skating ability. |

Like him much better as a 5 d-man and pp point guy. Would like to see Nick on the first pp unit and relegate Duncs to the 2nd. Not seeing that right now though. Q still insists on giving 2 the lion's share on pp unit 1

Fro should definitely be in this convo and Sharpie as well. Those two can both pick 'em up and lay 'em down.

If he can avoid the concussions, I see no reason he isn't a very effective hockey player for at least another 2-3 years. Physically, he is better than most of these guys 5-10 years younger.

I'm also seeing more 'too many men' penalties in situations that weren't traditionally called, ie: with players coming off the ice within 3 to 5 feet from the bench. |

Wayne Gretzky was the best player ever—from the neck up.
Bobby Orr, from the neck down. What an amazing player he was. Guys who were/are also a joy to watch play (to my eye): Yvan Cournoyer, Bobby Hull, Paul Coffey, Hossa, Pavel Datsyuk, Peter Forsberg . . .

You look at a guy like selanne who, while he plays a different game, has been able to maintain most of his speed due to great condition to age 40, and I have high hopes for Hoss just like you |

Would you agree that Mike Bossy would have been the all-time leading goal scorer if not for his injury(injuries)?
I hate playing the game of what-ifs, because staying healthy is part of the game, and Gretzky was able to do it.....I've also heard many people say Lemieux would have been wound up with more points than Gretzky if he stayed healthy but the fact is he didnt and Gretzky did...just wondering your opinion. |

Agree, Leddy/Seabrook on first pairing, Kieth/Sharp on second. That would give you a solid dman on each pairing and allow Sharp and Leddy more movement. |

I take my shots at Duncs and for good reason, but i'll always love him for the heart he showed after this. What a warrior !
I was at the 2010 Hawks convention and Sharpie made a comment about Duncs that was memorable too. To paraphrase, he said Keith was the type of guy that would keep you awake until the wee hours asking questions about life. Sharpie said his honesty and curiosity about life made him a special human being to be around. Won't lie...that comment touched me big time.
