I agree with that, but I was thinking of more in the line that the Leafs get rid of them while they are still in their prime.
Mahoivich was shipped out cause he had differences with Imalch, and the fans started booing him.
Keon felt betrayed by Ballard.
McDonald's mistake was having Sittler as his best friend.
Sittler, was a casualty of the above.
It just goes on and on. We are never happy with what stars we do have.
We could probably win the cup and Leaf nation would still be female doging about the team in some way shape or form.
Poor Kessel is one of the top RW in the league. His crime? He is soft spoken, and not a rah rah type.

Keon was as much to blame as Ballard. As far as I'm concerned, they can both go to heck.
And I know I'm going to get murdered for this, but they should have moved Salming earlier than they did. His skills had eroded by the time they allowed him to go to Detroit, but Ballard always protected him.
Fun fact about Heineken: those classic, green bottles that give it its trademarked image actually contribute to making a really poopty, skunky beer. - Leeman4Gilmour
only if allowed to sit in light for extended periods of time, anyone with any experience in home brew knows what light can do to your beer's flavour. unfortunatly the folks liquor store dont store it properly. fun fact for the day ... go leafs

I compare him to Mogilny, loads of talent, but not the guy who carries the team and kicks it into another gear/compete level when needed. Thus not loved as much and the lower perceived value. - vermie22
Don't see the big fuss over bernier having exceeding value when the guy demanded a trade out of there. And he has not shown anything special in the NHL for a long stint of games played continuously. - Mapleleafs_91
bernier, reimer, scrivens, bishop....blah, blah blah....
same crap

I dont think anyone suggested straight for nino lol..
but Kovalchuk is probably a fair comparision. he was traded in 2010 when he was 27ish for Johnny Oduya, Niclas Bergfors, Patrice Cormier and 1st 2010 (Kevin Hayes)
Is that what we can expect if Kessel doesnt want to sign an extension? - senstroll
For two months worth of service? I'd take it. But Kessel still has two seasons left on his deal. More time to contribute. More time for the recipient to work on an extension.

Pffft the window girls I saw were all chubby Morroccans with depressed facial expressions.
If I wasn't so bloody stoned I'd have stopped to think about the socio-economic ramifications of having women sometimes forcefully removed from home country and put into this trade to help the mafia pad their stats.

I can't believe that I'm citing a Yahoo Answers page, but some light does still pass through brown bottles, as well as the green ones. Brown is preferable to green, but kegs are obviously preferable to both. - Leeman4Gilmour
that's why I make sure I drink all my Sleeman's within a week of purchasing
and only drink Corona if it's free and all there is.

Not to say we can't whip something up like that here but they know their stuff over there.
Me and bud had just finished having a huff 'n puff with our good friend, Mr. drugs.
Went in so baked that I couldn't remember what drink I was gonna order 'pint of Heineken, good sir' and instead just pieced together something like 'can I get 2 large cold beers' chap brought us back not pints, but frosted mugs, and didn't charge extra.

If the Leafs don't make the playoffs this year, and/or Kessel doesn't show much interest in an extension this summer, then move him at the draft.
With a full year left on the original deal, we'd get maximum value in return.
And considering what we gave up to get Kessel, it'd be a huge embarassment for him to walk after his deal's done, having not played once for us in the playoffs
