the way they are playing? they're dangerous.. they have NO aspirations this season.. its like they have already been eliminated from the post season and have gone into spoiler mode..
not to mention bobrovsky is playing really well.
3 points in their first 2 games.. not too shabby - Dozzer
It's like a hobo fight. They've nothing to lose so will always go for the kill |

Agreed.
Put it this way...if we play the way we have, I think we finish above the following:
- Montreal
- NYI
- Florida
- Winnipeg
- Calgary
- Columbus - Pen15
In two games, we have scored three goals - none at even strength.
Let's not be making any bold statements just yet, thank you very much. |

Florida has looked terrible so far |

may not be enough...I am skeptical he is even available for the leafs to offer anything - senstroll
Fair enough, but what if he is UFA, after all the Ducks are kinda Dumb like that (Shultz) Do you give him the big dollars and term? I think so. |

Yea, I have faith in Carlyle. Seems to have a plan and system in place. No reason to doubt him until/if the losing becomes a pattern. - systemtool
yeah, the focus on team D and positioning is nice.. if the leafs can figure out how to play like they did in the last ten min against buffalo they'll be a handful for alot of teams |

It may be me, but isn't that the wrong word. Doesn't that mean they can't be arsed. Maybe expectations is better? |

Watching that game last night, the Oilers need 5 stay at home defenseman, those forwards don't know how to back check, it is all go in the offence zone and then they look like their skates are in concrete going back to their own zone. Lots of odd man rushes for the opposition. - LeafMan
They are playing shinny. |

I don't think that how the Schultz saga played out was anything to do with their deicsion.
Though apparently Burke enquired about Schultz in the Beach deal and got told no, but you can have gardiner instead... |

I honestly blame EA Sports NHL Hockey 94.
Fans now have it ingrained in their heads that there is a scoring line 1, scoring line 2, checking line.
Is the checking line forbidden from trying to score? - Atomic Wedgie
It's the automatic labeling. In all truthfulness you can give the lines any name you want, on any given night, because it's really up to the coach to allocate jobs for each player. |

why are line combos such a hot topic all the time?
I could care less who is playing where, does it really matter?
ZOMG! Mac is on the 1st line??!! wtf?? ...
it matter to a point, but the time spent by people typing out their line combos and posting it here baffles me.
lines get switched in the middle of the game, does it matter who started where on the paper before the game starts? |

Definitely, no doubt. - A_Tree
yeah, i fully expect the grabo line to tally less in the way of offense this year.
and of course most of leafs nation will flip out because they dont understand hockey beyond the G A and P columns |

I wouldn't put too much weight in that though. Otherwise teams like Philly, NYR, & Vancouver are doomed with their start.
I think they're playing well above their heads. My guess is that it'll catch up to them within a few weeks.
In terms of the Leafs start; there's no gaurantees there either, but they at least seem to be more organized than in years past. |

ya I think Shultz saw the chance to go UFA and said "(frank) ya."
Especially after they traded Gardiner, no buddies there, and speculation they're losing Perry and Getzlaf.
looks like a great move on his part. one day Oilers probably won't suck... one day. |

Not finishing in the leagues bottom 5 is a bold statement?
Bold would have me say something like: "leafs will compete for a playoff spot" |

Despite their draft picks, they are no closer to Holy Grail than the Leafs are. Zero defensemen, aside from Schultz (maybe) and it appears their goalie has the same question marks as we do. |

Now Kovalev has no aspirations. It's like a spelling bee. Please can i have it in a sentence. |

fukd if I know what Ana is thinking now they got fleeced on Gardiner and lost JS.
If I had to guess they keep Perry, if they cant sign Getz, move him for a good ransom

I choose this:
1st line: John
2nd Line: Paul
3rd Line: George
4th Line: Ringo.
Thats assuming that ability to score is directly proportional to songwriting ability |
