Ya, like I said, he put up 50 points twice in his career. - LeftCoaster
Kinda like paying a goalie 4 million a year for what 60 career starts

His issues are back related. He speperated his shoulder.... Not a recurring problem.
So anyone with a game missed ever can't be signed? Concidered injury prone? - burn
Burn... im sorry..but are you F***** serious?
its obvious he is injury prone.. to say otherwise is well....you know. |

Sure they can. But shouldnt be for 5 years at 5.25 with that injury history.
I dont know about injury prone, but those injuries can back and haunt you any time. |

I noticed the leafs give the canadiens the puck willingly in the 3rd period. Habs scoring a goal off of it.
Hey at the end of the day the leafs won, i cant complain (im not UG) but for god sakes..atleast tell your opposing team. "HEY don't get too cute, we will bust this the other way and pop another one"
If im alone in that thinking so be it. - Cherry--Skoal
First game, look at Detroit running around like the Washington Generals, the Vancouver Canucks coughing up the puck in their own zone, the LA kings giving odd man rushes one after the other. I didn't expect a perfect game. |

disagree. you dont give the puck to the other team for a full period...EVER!
You learn that in novice. - Cherry--Skoal
the teams that win in the NHL are the ones who protect their leads, not go on offense which does nothing more to create holes in your defense for the opposition to exploit while your forwards are caught up ice.
i am not saying they played the defensive shut down game well by any means, they didnt.. but one guy forward and 4 guys back is smart hockey when protecting a lead
that being said.. they do have to get better at it, much better. |

Not yet, hope they put Schneider back in. All teams/players are gonna have some rust, he'll be fine. One game. - LeftCoaster
Will he be fine, or is it possible he isn't the real deal that you dumb Vancouver Fans have been forced to believe |

Whether same or different, its still an issue though. 1 season of 70 plus games out of the past 5 years is an issue, same or not. |

thats a generalization
thats burn's issue with your stance.
the re-occuring issue with lupul was his back... before then he was a durable guy
the injury that knocked him out of last season had nothing to do with the chronic injury issues he had.
generalizations are not accurate.. you cant use them as hard fact |

Thats why the Lupul deal has me nervous. Ive seen nothing that shows me he can be one of our best players, especially for that long, without missing chunks of a season. It limits what we can do now in the FA market. Yes we can all look at injuries and say thats held Lupul back, but to think its all gone away is wishfull thinking. He is one of my favourite players on the team, so it pains me to say that this was not a good deal for the team. Shorter term would have been best, and at worst, trade him at the deadline for picks/prospects. Long term, this wasnt the best move for the team IMO.
I dont know, tough call on this one... - systemtool
The cap hit itself was good. The only thing I'd say was overdone, would be the term.
3-4 years would have been good, but for the next half decade we're on the hook, and his health is always a question.
Then again, lads, remember, for those of you barking at this deal(UG) because he's only got 60 points once in his career, look at the deal we just gave Grabovski.
5.5 per for 5 years. And in the 2 years leading up to the deal he recorded 51 and 58 points, respectively.
My money's on Mac being moved near the season's end, with his deal expiring, and the fact that he's not a carlyle type player, it might be best to get something for him.
Also, we need to clear up one more roster spot in order to get Frattin playing. |

if he was still missing time due to his back i'd say there is an argument there.. but apparantley an infection he got which set his recoup time back what.. two years? is the same as a separated shoulder |

That was my line too.
In order for us to resign him it'd be in the 5-5.5 range. I like Grabs too, but with the wild style of play, you'd have to think it won't be long before he gets his knee clipped and rips it to shreds, or crashes head-first into the boards and gets his bell rung.
I don't think Grabs stays healthy forever |

so what if he tears and acl or gets a concussion? still not injury prone? because it has nothing to do with his back or shoulder? |
