Disappointed to see Schroeder sent down, but not surprised. Vandermeer playing forward is horrible though IMO. |

I have no problem with a defensive system with this current roster, in fact it would be stupid to try to do otherwise. |

I think the majority of us just wanted to see how the line would perform at the NHL level, bring some new blood and excitement to the team, perhaps a potential future line. The fact is we wont know until we try, that's what frustrates me so much in terms of AV. Not that it fuc*ing matters anymore. - Whiskey-Tango

Speed wins games if there gonna plug up the ice its gonna be boring ass hockey. Sometimes AV's style can really piss of the fans. I want to see goals and that has always proved to be a problem when you need them. They know how defend lets see more goals. FAK |

Shows how desperate we are for a second line.
You can look at it in a bad way too since Raymond just wasted one of his rare good games at a scrimmage. - Nucker101
Like I said, I want him to do good so he can make a lot of money on another team |

So I guess you are one of those win at any cost even if the product is shyt? Not saying it's wrong but it isn't for me. I'm not going to spend my $ watching that crap, I've tried and I can't do it. - CanUSA17
I just want a Cup, I don't care how we win it, be nice to win playing a wide open style, but it just isn't realistic anymore. The 80's are over people, let's get used to that fact. |

How far is JS down the depth chart? Even with major injuries throughout the line up he still does not get a shot.
I agree. Trade the kid if he's not going to get a shot. - bloatedmosquito
Some players are lifetime AHLers. The dissapoinment is Gillis wasting a 1 st round draft pick.
I am also disappointed with our second round draft pick Mallet. He would be a great addition to a Burrows Lapierre line in 2 years. They should have him banging and fighting. It could have been Vancouvers version of the Hanson Brothers. |

Mallet is in the ECHL.

Hahahahaha good luck with that. AV is the most successful head coach in Vancouver history. MG would have to screw up royally to get fired.
Keep dreaming in your grandmas basement - Gordiehowetrick
Maybe you should try removing your head from Gillis's ass |

I know . THey should have been instructing him evey step of the way fight and hit. Remember that fight he had on Sportsnet against the wolves. He was like a Torres light. |

Our top 6 D is set, and our forward group is pretty decimated by injuries... yet AV decides the best way to proceed is by carrying 12 forwards and 9 dmen
But hey, Vandermeer can play forward too right...? - nucks_94
Vandemeer will be fun to watch . Bout time we had a fighter on the team. |

As i mentioned a week or so ago, I see this season much like Luongos first one in van or gilis' first season |

The wording was awkward but you get my gist. A little hungover from our pool last night. |

I think this lineup will not meet satisfactory and some needed changes will take place.
This year with some top player buyouts to meet the cap will happen and top end players approaching free agency (including Edler ) may be moved or traded.
This is the year to try to get the Benns or E.Kanes or Perry type player/s. |

I might have been a little 'tipsy' by the end, my last pick was Mason Raymond. Why? |

Question is, what potential move out there is there? Top 6 forwards don't grow on trees and teams are loathe to give them up unless the return is huge. While I agree that AV probably has too much input into personnel decisions, if getting secondary scoring is going to leave you with holes elsewhere, what's the point? I'll blame Gillis for some of his trades, like the Ballard and Booth deals (although to be fair, it's too early to judge Booth yet) and the jury is still out on the Hodgson deal. Playing trap style hockey wins games, it looks awful, but it works. I'd rather us win with it, then play wide open hockey and end up like Philly and Pittsburg last year. - DariusKnight
I stopped watching the playoffs last year sometime in the 2nd round. It literally became unwatchable for me (even as background entertainment) and that's not just because the Nucks were out. Switching over to the World Championships was like a breath of fresh air to watch some decent, positive hockey. If we adopt the PHX, LA, STL style I will bow out stage left.
I don't think it's always so black and white: play offensive-first hockey and lose, defense-first hockey and win. Detroit won with great hockey, so did Pittsburgh for that matter. We were 1 game away from doing it. It can be done. |
