the reason i suggested perhaps bringing in bishop (or another goalie) is that IF they find out dubnyk can't handle the workload, or just simply "doesn't have it", they have NOTHING to fall back on. i think the prevailing opinion is that you need 2 quality goalies to win in this league, and the oilers aren't even 100% sure that they have one....why not bring in another young guy, and let 2 young talented goalies grow with the rest of your young team. - sensarmy_11
I believe that is there game plan but with one year left on Skabbys contract I just can't see them making a move until the off-season. With the amnesty clause and an above average FA market this year it might be a good idea to be patient and address this hole in the summer. This also gives them time to see what the have in Dubnyk and whether or not they need a 1A or a 1B. |

I figured as much... our 1C is a huge glaring need.. and a star goalie is yours.
Thought maybe we could scratch eachother's backs.
it isn't totally unreasonable... its not like I low-balled the f#ck out of you. - JVince11
If we traded rnh then our 1c is glaring. Miller is aging and although he may be capable of being the best in the league (but not much longer), I won't trade rnh for him. I'd want foligno from you guys and maybe luke Adam but that's not going to include our big guys IMO. |

Soon as I saw karllsson on waivers i was actually surprised cause he looked really good for a poor flames team last year.I agree keep the picks and pick up karllsson.Do we not have first pick in waiver draft? - oil90
Do you actually watch hockey? When was Karlsson good? You could have the 30th waiver pick and get Karlsson

Well I don't think you will find a single person willing to trade Foligno right now. He is our young Milan Lucic type player.
I think if it isn't RNH.. which is completely understandable.. it would be for Hall then.
I would be all for trading you hometown boy Stafford even though they play separate wings. |

fair enough.
it's nice to see that some people can actually approach a trade offer with some legit analysis and opinions......unlike certain people who's intelligence levels only allow them to analyze things with emoticons. |

I know he is planning to take the year off. In Canada he wouldn't have any political issues. |

A long long way from Lucic. Do you remember what happened when Lucic ran Miller. The whole team stood around hoping someone else was going to step up.

When he probably won't be living here very long it might not as big of a concern for him.
I would take him for a year. |

I would actually let our team roll as it is.Dubnyk looked really good behind a struggling team, managed a .500 record and very good save % and G.A.A.
Let dubnyk play most of the games, sign larrsson for backup and make no trades until the trade deadline(unless something huge comes our way not involving the untouchables).
We arent figuring to win the cup or dominate just yet,we have more solid D-men coming through the ranks.Let the kids develop in the system/leagues they are playing in,keep drafting magically like we have been doing and just let the kids play. |

Wow...only a page and a half before someone stepped in with some common (frank)ing sense!
Clouts is trolling for hits again.
At the very most they would pick up a free back up on waivers. They are not looking to trade.
Duby had some of the best numbers in the league over the last 1/3 of the season.
2.25 GAA, .925 Sv%
Thats right up in the top 5 in stats. |
