Why do you think it was directed towards you? You are not the only person that mentioned Connolly.
I would much rather not add Connollys 4.5M because it gives us flexibility to make a trade. Connoly has had his chances here and I would much rather give PT to a younger player who deserves to grow than a burned out has been. If you would like me to direct something to your comments... Why in god's green earth would Connolly be "motivated" by playing 4th line? |

Connolly does not make this team any better in any capacity.
Why do we or would we want another player for teams like the Bruins to try and bully around and push around like a little female dog?
Connolly is the prototypical player this organization is trying to get away from!

Was always a dissapointed Timmy fan . If we got him on the cheap (min) I guess he could be used on the fourth line , You made a good senerio that could work. Anyone else we would bring up would have to gell with the rest of the team. we don't have 60 games to wait for that to happen. Not sure if he is game ready. Or was just in charge of bringing the leafs donuts. Send the proposal to Darcy . |

put mcmuscle and gerbe on IR
sign fragile tim to play 4th line with hecht and kaleta
bench timmy or hecht when scott needs to be in the line up
roll that 4th line 12 minutes a game and bank on the top 3 lines having fresher legs in the last 8 minutes of the games
if we are up a bunch play that line heavy in the third to save the legs of the top 3 lines for later in the year
if an injury comes up, they can move up 1 line for a few games
if they suck ass, put them on waivers and pull gerbe or mcmuscle off the IR
playoff time rosters are expanded and play whoever is needed
this only works if lindy would roll the lines for the entire season and focus on trying to keep the top 9 fresh for the stretch run
this only works if the GRINGO STICKS
I'll hang up and listen - homiedclown
Hang up and listen?!?!?

More to come soon....
In other news Andrej Sekera is rumored to be traded to Montreal for a stale Tim Hortons Coffee and a bag of pucks (e3). This has been acknowledged as a move to replace cry baby Subban. |

Personnel? You would be correct.
Terry Pegula is a guy that has almost never fired a guy in his life. It has made him a billionaire so I don't begrudge him. Unfortunately, that kind of loyalty rarely works in professional sports. He's going to have to learn that if he wants a Cup. - buffalofan19
I think if they miss the playoffs this season heads will roll.Just a feeling but the Sabres really have no excuses this season less Miller continues his inconsistant play and blames the defense again |

Connolly is a really polarizing figure in recent Sabre lore. Personally while I do agree that putting together the right roster is more important than pleasing fans, I don't think the addition of Connolly gets them any closer to real tangible success, and it pisses off most of the fan base.
I think that there will continue to be a rash of players on waivers in the very near future and there will be better options to be had.
Logically the idea is not bad, but you have to ask if the bad press is worth the minimal gain. With Hecht back in the fold I cant imagine bringing Connolly back is going to send the right message to the customer base. The honeymoon for Pegula will start to enter the phase when there need to be results. When free agents look at the Sabres next July you dont want them to think, business as usual in Buffalo. Sabres have done a nice job by getting rid of players from their core and acquiring a guy like Ott and drafting a guy like Grigorenko. No need to go in reverse now IMO by continually bringing back familiar faces. |

I like the make up of what we have.
3 scoring lines. The first line is almost entirely of skill. The second line has a little bit of everything. The third line has a little bit of everything. Our 4th line needs work, but id like more sandpaper and less players like Connolly.
Its a shame Tropp got injured. I really liked what he brought to the team. Tropp - Hecht - Kaleta wouldve been a good checking line that could still produce. |
