My wife's from Western NY and a big Sabres fan. It's actually kind of cool having fans of two different teams under the same roof. You end up following both teams and it broadens your perspective on every issue. It wasn't too cool during the 2007 playoff series though. I ended up retiring to my family's hunting cabin to watch the game so I wouldn't shout stuff about the Sabres in front of my wife that I'd later regret.

Well I told her she has PA Paranteau and she was liek yeah he should fit in well here. I think it is pretty awesome though I mean they are out in the West so not that bad. If she was a Ranger fan well the wedding would have been called off

Yup. There may well be a hint of truth...maybe his son is recovering from something, but it's not like he's not flying anywhere and grieving by the bedside. If it's genuinely a family health issue keeping him there, then I take it all back, but excuse me if I don't take this whiny POS at his word.

Meanwhile, there's Thomas Hickey:

I'm intrigued by this Hickey kid. I have a good feeling that he's gonna be a surprise. I know he's not the big, physical Dman that everyone wants, but I'm hoping he could turn into a heady, shifty, puck moving defender who can potentially work a PP.

Come on seriously what would you do?? One hand you got the Penguins who have real caliber NHL players then there is the ISlanders. With about 2 maybe 3 NHL players with AHL fill ins.
